I've been reading a lot on parasite infections since many of my symptoms I experience seem to be related. I haven't felt right for years and my symptoms come and go, vary in severity. I've asked my doctor if I could get some anitbody tests and I had to get an abdominal ct and stool test since he couldn't refer me without a positive test.
I don't even know which type of doctor to see. The infectious disease doctor should be the one, according to most sites. I called for an appointment and the nurse said they don't treat parasites, mostly hiv and major things. I think a gastro doc would be a waste of money. No one really has a clue.
I think it's odd how often we deworm our pets, yet the healthcare system doesn't even offer any help.
I'm just curious to see how many people have dewormed/deparasitized in the past or on a regular basis. Most treatment medications for humans are available only by prescription, yet you can buy the same medication for your pets at the local store. Pet labels also recommend treatment every month.
