Do I need an appitite superssant?

A little about me. I'm 30 years old (male) 6'1 325lbs (large frame). I lifted a lot in high school but couldn't find time for it after I entered the real world. At 18 I was 215lbs benching 280 (325 max 44" chest - for example). I am still a strong guy but not like I was.

I am looking to get back into lifting and just getting healthy in general. I know I have a lot of cardio in my future to burn off my midsection (legs and arms still have some definition but need a lot of work).

My problem is that at my job I am in front of unhealthy food all day that I can graze off for free and a free employee meal that can range from burgers to prime rib and every thing in between. There is fresh fish and I am eating mostly that now for my meal with a salad. At home I don't eat much when food isn't around. I just need to fine tune what it is I am eating

My problem is I have no will power for food. I'm very active for someone my size - hiking, heavy yard work (digging, wood splitting, exct), cycling 35-45 miles at a time (weather permitting) I even walk from 5 to as much as 9 miles a day just at work every day and during my lunch break I climb up and down 15 flights of stairs with out problem just to get the blood pumping.

But my snacking is out of control so I ask, what could I take that will curb/stop my appetite at least while I am at work? I'm not looking to go into starvation mode I will make myself eat when it is time but I want to kill the cravings. As active as I am I should be dropping weight but my will power is screwing me. Even though I have totally cut out sweets and soda.

Also, would it be wise to look into a ECA stack (or smiler) to use just when I'm exercising to get a little extra kick out of my workouts?

Before it is beaten into the ground I have been fixing a lot of the problems in my diet since my last check up about 2 months ago and aside from my weight I am in good health.

If you read all of this I thank you and eagerly await any advice you may have for me.

stimulant x is a great appetite suppresent from my years of experiance which helps shut the grazing off, in the past i have used leviathin to great sucess as well, it would be good for you to include some fish oil and CLA to help in your long term goals maybe even some sesamin. also i find it best to keep protein bars, shakes, and oatmeal close by for me at work it helps when i get stuck on those long days or accidently forgot my brown bag in the morning. whatever questions you may still have ask away the people here are great i have been here for some time and have loved every minute

If you bring your own meal to work, you'll have no reason to graze or eat the less healthy food. I bet you aren't bringing anything of your own to work. If you do have to eat what your work serves... Do they have a salad bar or any type of salad? Eat high fiber to get full and kill your appetite. Supplements help, but you have to realize what they are called. Supplements must supplement something, and it's best for them to supplement a healthy goal oriented diet. If you can get your diet figured out, supplements can help you reach your goal a lot faster. They won't do much if you can't change your diet, though.

i should of highlighted on this more earlier, its my personal feeling that diet is 60% training is 35% and and supplements make a 5% difference (outside of AAS but that is a whole other story and place i dont wanna go) now people who are like "no way supps only help 5%!" once your diet and training are in line the progress and things you can accomplish are downright amazing, now add in that extra 5% at that time and you are in for a whole lot more results because you not have a solid A+ plan!
hopefully i didnt sound like i was ranting and actually made some sense

It's okay, no worries. I try to explain things thoroughly because it's easy for new people to get confused. Not everyone knows the basics. :)

thanks for the responses. Yes, I know that the main thing will be my diet and the sups are just a small kicker. I just need a little help curbing the apatite. I now there is not a magic pill to drop the weight, I just want a little step ladder to get over that first hurdle. I am someone that gets frustrated if I don't see results.

I work in a steak and seafood restaurant so just about every where I look is all of the things I know are holding me back from my goal. I have been taking away things that I shouldn't eat but I feel like I will go insane when I try to do it cold turkey (quitting smoking was easier). I talk about it like its an addiction because for me it is.

Thanks again for the advice.

Recreate is a great non jittery appetite supressant and one of the only good products made by USP, IMO.

Also try some coconut oil, a lot of people use it to curb appetite naturally.

Eat b4 work and bring a healthy meal to eat during work. This is the same aspect of going to the super market while you are hungry. You end up spending tons of money on stuff you normally wouldn't buy. I always eat b4 I food shop so my hunger doesn't clound my decisions.
