A little about me. I'm 30 years old (male) 6'1 325lbs (large frame). I lifted a lot in high school but couldn't find time for it after I entered the real world. At 18 I was 215lbs benching 280 (325 max 44" chest - for example). I am still a strong guy but not like I was.
I am looking to get back into lifting and just getting healthy in general. I know I have a lot of cardio in my future to burn off my midsection (legs and arms still have some definition but need a lot of work).
My problem is that at my job I am in front of unhealthy food all day that I can graze off for free and a free employee meal that can range from burgers to prime rib and every thing in between. There is fresh fish and I am eating mostly that now for my meal with a salad. At home I don't eat much when food isn't around. I just need to fine tune what it is I am eating
My problem is I have no will power for food. I'm very active for someone my size - hiking, heavy yard work (digging, wood splitting, exct), cycling 35-45 miles at a time (weather permitting) I even walk from 5 to as much as 9 miles a day just at work every day and during my lunch break I climb up and down 15 flights of stairs with out problem just to get the blood pumping.
But my snacking is out of control so I ask, what could I take that will curb/stop my appetite at least while I am at work? I'm not looking to go into starvation mode I will make myself eat when it is time but I want to kill the cravings. As active as I am I should be dropping weight but my will power is screwing me. Even though I have totally cut out sweets and soda.
Also, would it be wise to look into a ECA stack (or smiler) to use just when I'm exercising to get a little extra kick out of my workouts?
Before it is beaten into the ground I have been fixing a lot of the problems in my diet since my last check up about 2 months ago and aside from my weight I am in good health.
If you read all of this I thank you and eagerly await any advice you may have for me.
