Disposal of seringes/needles

What do you guys do with the seringe/needle after injection? Do you just throw them away in the trash or do you dispose of them in a "proper way".?
 
Don't throw em in the trash; they can puncture the innocent garbage workers who will then be paranoid about what was on the needle, rightly so. There should be safe needle deposit location in your town/city. Also try and get a small sharps container to put them in.
 
I have a pair of "sidecutters" that I use to tap the end of the needle to dull it up. Then I cut it into 1/4" pieces into the trash can....
