Diminishing pumps

I have noticed a reduction in pumps although I'm still using the same amount of pump-inducing pre-workout. Is it possible to desensitize oneself to NO and if yes, is this tolerance avoidable/reversable somehow?

I have been on a light bulk (~300kcal surplus) for a couple of months now and have gained some weight, but no radical changes in a while.

Hmmm odd. If you had said you cut carbs then it would have made sense. Might be worth taking a week or 2 off the pre. See how it feels after a break. I have had to do it before with caffeine, I know your not talking about caffeine though.

I'd take some time off the pre, stims, etc anything that could interfere. Also consider a week of deloading. If you want to try something different and can get a hold of it, try Antaeus Thunderbolt

Good advice. It could also be lack of carbs, some people get a better pump with carbs, some it doesn't matter. Also, look at training. How is your mind muscle connection? Are you squeezing on the top of each movement or just swinging the weights?

How many days a week do you train? And what's your rep ranges for training? I've noticed that when I am training 6+ days per week, my pumps aren't as great. Great suggestions above, I would definitely consider a deload and see if that helps. Are you doing any type of periodization program? Its common that training in some rep ranges (specifically low reps like 3-5 per set) won't yield as great of a pump as 10-12 rep sets.

I like to alternate different pre's seems I have much better results effect wise doing that. Even using the same one for a week I usually start getting bored with it.

On a related note when my pumps start being not as great at least for me it's a carb issue. I saw you said you havnt changed that though.

You can indeed develop 'tolerance' to nitrates and various pathways can downregulate a bit over time; this is why a lot of formulations like HV include some arginine--while not very effective as a direct ingredient, it can mitigate buildup of nitrate tolerance.

Like anything else, cycling off for a bit can help restore sensitivity. Or you could just add some more nitrate for now.

Can't say I've ever experienced this in terms of getting used to a supplement or ingredient, but definitely have days where the pump is better than others. All points that have been touched on so far are relevant to that (diet, rep ranges, training frequency, possible increases in body fat or even subcutaneous water holding on, etc.).

I notice the same with all kinds of pump products but I found a solution: I like 2 servings of GlycerGrow 2 better than any pump product I have tried. It gives me a different kind of pump that High Volume, Conqu3r Stim-Free and VasKular cannot match that also improves strength significantly because of how dense and deep it is.

I keep reading good stuff about this GlycerGrow 2 might have to pick up a container on my shopping spree and see how good it is.

Go for it, like me you may find a sweet spot for a glycerol dose that works better than any other combo of ingredients out now.

I find sometimes if my workouts themselves are suffering - or if I am not contracting as much and moving weight more then that can effect my pumps quite a bit. Maybe try even throwing in a good pump set here and there where you focus on contraction and that may help the process.
