Your legs are just awesome! This is going to be a killer show for you.

Thanks bro and everyone else. I got the most important muscle group for my foundation. I will fill out my upper body into a mass machine this off season but having superior legs was our priority. I can maintain them and build in crazy details now

You look great DD.
you should do well at this show.
I don't see any glaring weak points, which is good.

A little constructive criticism from one BB to another, I think you should focus on lat width and calves next off season.

Don't take that negatively, because it's not.

Thanks bro! Yeah my back will get very hard this off season. We focused a lot on legs for this season so I will be ahead of the game in the future. It payed off. My calves have great width (from the back) but lack massive depth (from side) and they will grow with time.

The ankle injury a month back set me back for calves but nothing that can't be fixed with hard work.

I should rebound nicely with a nice 5lbs for my other shows in June and the bulk will be in back and chest. They will be hit hard.

Appreciate the words and criticism bro. My off season will be very productive. I will have almost 20 weeks before I cut for another show. Lots of upper body work.

Looking rad Dave! Very productive prep to say the least and very inspiring bud. Enjoy your show holmes

Your upper legs are already thick so you're right there. If you can get them to continue to grow while filing out your upper body you'll be sick. I'm glad you took the constructive criticism well, shows you're a good competitor.
A, lot of guys get close to their show get really butt hurt when you don't blow smoke up their ass. Props Dave, you'll do well.

Thanks. I ain't here to be told in awesome, I know I am lol. I listen to everyone's feedback and advice but when it comes down to it... Only my coach is the voice I listen too. The guy knows his **** and he might just possibly know my body better than I do haha.

I always enjoy criticism and people opinions. There is a lot to be learned from it wether good or bad it just depends on how you react to it.

I feel like physique competitors are the new Crossfit fuks. So you dieted from a skinny 180 to skinny 165 being 6 ft tall and walked on a stage so you can post it on your social media and tell your friends and girls.

Fuk that Fukin garbage. Do some god damn work in the gym. Earn something before you brag about it.

Disclaimer* I respect the guys that work hard and do it for themselves, but think it's hilarious when someone asks me why I squat so often and then brags about two shows they've competed in and placed last. But hey he loves to tell everyone he's a physique competitor.

That's the guy at my gym. Never does legs but loves telling everyone he's a physique competitor.

You look awesome brother.

Nor sure if anyone mentioned this....on the side chest pose try to get behind and under the Pec with your far atm and push that baby up and out.

In the pose you posted it almost looks like you are squishing it down.

Not trying to hijack just posting this to give an idea.

My chest isn't NEARLY as big as it looks but I'm pushing my far side Pec out with my bicep. I should be turned a bit more and my close arm should be back more to show off the serratus.

I know a few REAL physique guys I train around and with on occasion . They lift their asses off and squat. My buddy this morning was telling 405 for 10 and he's 8 weeks out. REAL physique guys do whole body. Physique is about the whole physique anyone who does different is a poser. The IFFB pro physique guys look like bodybuilders. They are just not as hard or crisp as bodybuilders. Here is a pic from the IFBB pro EUROPA show a few weeks ago. THOSE ARE REAL physique guys. Bodybuilding has the same type of impostors.

This is a truly great thread.

People at my gym often say things like "Man every time I see you you're doing legs." But when it comes time to pull or squat, they wonder why their numbers don't match up to their bench. Seems pretty obvious to me. "Oh, I do legs once a wk, except I skip some wks, & drink every wknd, & eat 3 meals/day, but I can't figure out why I'm not seeing progress."

Well what do ya squat ?;)

585x3 was my max in college before I was diagnosed.

Pulled over 600.

Cleaned 295

Inclined 315x5

No where near that now but I will be again and I currently squat 405.

Dave is 100% correct and I completely respect anyone that busts their a$$.

I agree and disagree here. I'm a bit biased as I competed last year in physique.

I had just lost a **** ton of weight and my trainer via h talked me into competing so I did. I think it's a way for guys to get their feet wet with the whole prep and everything that goes into it. I stand just under 6 ft tall and at the time I would've had to put on 30 lbs of muscle just to fit in on a bodybuilding stage.

Regardless of who does it or what class they are in it is a huge personal achievement just to finish a prep and step on stage. It's something that not a lot of gym rats can say they've done.

My goal ultimately is bbing which is how I train.

I know this wasn't directed at me I just wanted to shed a bit of insight is all. I've played college baseball, state championship HS football and that physique show was the hardest thing I've done.

Again just trying to shed some light here nothing personal at all :-)

Maybe that post was uh a little aggressive lol. I'm on a rampage today lol.

Naw it was true. Just because you lift a weight or get on a stage doesn't make you special. WINNING is the difference. PROGRESS is the difference. In this sport your physique and the way you look should say it all. If you have to tell people you compete then you obviously don't look the part or carry yourself like a competitor. For example people do t ask me if I am a bodybuilder anymore, they ask when my next show is (shocked when I say I'm about to do my first) or what show I'm training for. I look the part, my friends look the part. It's really that simple.

You're right and I have the utmost respect for guys that bust their ass. (Including yourself) I know this is the exception and not the rule. I was speaking to the exception.

I had the same issue as a college athlete with guys that have all the talent but don't work hard, or people that don't put their all into the things they do. Whether that be as an employee, husband, dad, coach, etc.

As a side note this started because someone that I work with on our directors group at work is lazy and dumb. I can work with dumb if you're motivated. I can motivate lazy if you're really smart, but I can't work with someone that's both.

That spit balled into the douche in the gym and now we are all riding my crazy train. Lol

Did I mention he makes well over 100k?

Thanks for mentioning this, Dave. I compete in physique and the previous description doesn't fit me at all.

You look great man. I'm subbed for the homestretch.

Very nice man. I appreciate anyone who works hard for their numbers.
