Country Gets HUGE with 5-3-1, Erase and DAA.

Well that's what I thought then I swear one of the guys on here said the other day not too.... whatever. And yeah I knew that... guess I won't be benching USAPL unless they got high benches. I drive heels down, keep glutes tight, and drive back/up. That said I'm kind wondering what the setup will be like at this meet. Do you guys see a lot of variety between your meets when it comes to equiptments? Other than just rack to mono for squat, which would be the biggest I'd think.

My benches were differet each meet. If the bench is too low, just don't pull your feet so far back.
 
Deadlift bar way better. Mono lift is money. Bench is definitely wider but can't remember height.
 
There's ALWAYS specs haha. Thing is this meet is unsanctioned, who knows.
 
Unsanctioned meet, you could see a lot of things. We had a squat bar on the bench in the warmup room of one of the unsanctioned meets I did. My buddy took his opener twice not knowing it was a heavier bar. Chances are it's going to be some nice(r) equipment.
 
That's what I was thinking. Check out my bench vids, elbows look better? Particularly the 2nd. Shot them just for you big guy ;)
 
Yeah, judging by where you touch, I'd say your tuck is good. It's deceiving from that other angle with how long your arms are. Those look smooth and ready to go dude. Just remember, wait for the press command, wait for the rack command. You might even have somebody yell at you to hold it until you're told to rack. I hear a lot of that at meets, "Hold it, hold it!"


EDIT: Absolutely nothing wrong with those squats at all dude. Timing was all right, you've just got more length than mass right now. If you want your hips under you more, you'd have to go with a wider stance or high bar. I think you're fine, though.

Thanks man. I've been working like crazy to get this technique better so I can unleash almighty hell and build some muscle/size. I need the base though. I'll have my buddy Bill who is coming yell at me to hold. On both lifts haha.

I was working on bouncing in and out of the hole like you said and using momentum. I think w/ knee wraps it would be even better. Biggest thing I forget it to keep my chest big when I'm coming up. I need to look to the sky more, that helps me when I remember.

I can high bar, it's actually more comfortable at times for me. I'll give it a crack next session. This stance is a lot more comfortable for me, but I still need to fine tune it.
 
Your working on getting technique down? Lol. Join the club. I say you got this all day. You drop pretty quick with those squats man and shoot up faster than that fat kid who gets stuck in the pipe in willy wonka

With your hip and back strength, low bar will probably be where you live, bud. I want you to keep your chest so you can hit big PRs, but I'm not gonna panic if you lose your chest on a big squat. What works for me is a slight chin tuck and then push my chin into my adam's apple. You can really see what I mean in my squat vid with Brandon Lilly. Looking at the sky can work if you pack your neck, but I don't want you to lose a neutral cervical spine.

I agree low bar is good for me, but I have such bad low back mobility since my SIJ/nerve injury, my back just like freaks out at the bottom of a squat and wants to topple. So keeping it as straight up and down as possible is gona be good I think. I'll play with both styles some more. I have plenty of leg strength, like I say I literally just suck at squatting form so bad I can't tap into it yet. They don't get sore or anything unless I kill leg press or another accessory.
 
I know your not squatting, but they look good you got some strong legs on ya, hell your just one strong mofo in general.

It's gonna be weird not working out the week before. I am a little Bc I'm only doing one lift, but still it's gonna be weird.

If you want to be more upright, just don't sit back as far. Everybody finds a different amount of sit-back that works for them. Sometimes it's not the maximum amount, it's just a sit-back and drop down. Widening up your stance would help, too.

Knowing how much you can deadlift, you should be able to good morning, drop your ass until you hit parallel, and good morning back up the weights you're squatting now. You'll find your groove.
 
Yeah man, you're right. I'm pretty sure I can hit a good 405/425 squat now... well see eventually. That # needs to be more like 5 by this time next year though. Just gota keep plugging. I am the least experiences and practiced with good form squatting. Deadlifting and bench got this far in 4 years, I can't expect my squat to be up to par after only 7 or so months of proper squatting.

Getting might close to 198. Granted this is on a different scale but still. Gona dial back this week so I can eat normal end of next week. Not much though.
 
10mm lever belt!

Never tried a lever....I have a 10mm single prong myself.

Edit: Mine is from bestbelts.net and I love it. Shipped super quick too.
 
Without looking, elite might be the best deal. Pick up anything else you need there too. Crazy deal is crazy
 
I want a good deal but I want a good belt too. Not gona buy a belt I don't like/won't use/won't perform in.

Anything good/comparable on Elite fts, I'll prob get some wraps from them too.
 
what lengths wrist/knee wraps do I want?

I still can't figure this belt thing out and have like 100 other things to do.
 
Your federation will have length limits so I would check the rule book. IMO I don't think it can be too long(no gay joke, I called it). So if the federation allows 2.5 get 2.5, etc. unless no ruling then I dunno?
 
Well wrist is 60 or 80. Knees are 2/2.5. Probably rps for me mostly so I figured you/Sean/herd would know offhand. If not ill have to look after the gym.
 
RPS you're allowed 3m wraps. Not sure about wrist wraps, mine are 36in. Get em as long as you can, more support the better.

I squated and overall felt good today. A little back pain, but it's becoming more centered. so I think healing, because the pain is not as broad?

Squat- barx7,7 135x7,7, 185x5, 205x5, 225x5, 245x5, 135x5

squats felt awesome today. Like, really good. hips felt good, knees felt good, good drive through the reps. granted they were light. But form was good. So I hit some extra reps/got a little heavier than I planned.
 
Also 194.5 at the gym 196 at home. That scale seems to weight heavy. Ill see what the gym scale says Monday.

Just be careful now. If rob scale is right for me, I'm 185. Gym says 177. So I need a 3rd scale. Actually going to the docs Tuesday just to use his scale.

I think it's about to. I'm definitely stronger. now that I am getting comfortable I can increase my training volume... gain strength, BOOM. It's gona go. I'm gona attempt 405 sometime soon me thinks.

Yeah smoker, Good thing weigh ins are in the AM. gona down oatmeal, a protein shake, and get some water ready for after weigh ins. gona cut sodium back during the week days and back off on food. eat normal friday.

Would be nice if I could do it. I'm just gona make sure I'm light enough to eat normal before the meet. Then eat again immediately after weighing in. What are you taking to eat? I feel like this is gona be fast paced. between weigh in, rules, then lifting. I hate having food in my stomach to lift, so that's no good for me.

Actually I can weigh in friday, but no way in hell I'm driving an hour back and forth just to weigh in. i can weigh in at 8, so I'll do that then eat immediately. lift at 11. I'll be fine at that point. Wake at 6 and have my first meal.


I'm looking at the list of people going to this meet (event on FB has some of them, probably not all I assume) and I tell myself/feel like I am looking at a list of my victims. I plan on beating some of these fellas totals with my deadlift alone. (or at least I tell myself that). Going for 900+ between the two. Two kids around my age I see are going, could be around my weight. I'm bigger and definitely thicker than both these kids. I realize now I have the PL gut of a 30 year old man hahaha. Now I know where all that weight is hiding...

I think there will be 15-20 lifters at this. So it should go pretty quickly.
 
Atta boy. That's nice. I'm sure my RPS one I wana do will be bigger. I knew this would be smaller from the get go. Still more could show up that day, or have signed up but not do the FB thing, so who knows.

I feel so good now, how am I gona feel after a week of deload? dear lord.

Also: I definitely have the best beard going into this thing. Yes.
