Cooking chicken in the microwave?

Can you do this? Im at college and living in a dorm and was wondering if this was safe to eat. The internet says cook 2 pieces for 4-6 minutes

Well it would be safe I guess. Make sure the pieces are small, you can basically steam the chicken in a microwave.

Don't have a hotplate?

I did this the last 2 days.

Tyson frozen chicken breast, I put it in increments of 6 minutes because I'm still seeing the best way to cook it. when it's mostly cooked except the center, I cut it in quarters and cook for another 9 minutes or so in 4:30 increments to turn over the pieces.

They taste good plain and there's no "cooking" or cleaning so it's perfect.

This whole idea just seems like a horrible idea. I am sure you can do it, but the difference in taste is probably huge. Think of cooking a steak in a microwave instead of grilling it. If it is your only option though? I guess. The hot plate sounds like a better idea.

In a jam you can just boil the chicken in the microwave and throw some hot sauce on it, I do that from time too time. Most dorms dont allow george foremans.

You could always par-cook the meat in the microwave then brown it in a skillet. Steaming doesn't always have to be bad as long as it's seasoned right. All though steaming works better with fish than with chicken.

Some onions, garlic, red pepper flake even with the chicken will give it a nice taste. Hotsauce is always a great addition to most foods. All foods.

What you could do is this. Get your chicken out into small bite size pieces. Finely mince up some garlic and onion. Get a strip or two of bacon (Depending on your diet). Cut the bacon up into small pieces. Mix together all of the ingredients and put into an open container to cook, the fat from the bacon will render out and brown some of the chicken and add a smoky undertone to the dish.

Spend 15 dollars and get a george forman grill from target, or better yet ask for it for xmas.

I dont think foremans are allowed in my dorm but i guess i could just hide it in one of my drawers and use it on the weekends haha

Just poach it in swanson chicken broth. then fork shred it when you take it out of the micro.

I have done this the last few weeks on the stove, and it is pretty damn good.. LIke chicken soup.
