CONTROLLED LABS 10 Year Anniversary TIME CAPSULE Contest

I like it!

The year was 2005. The place was Cancun, Mexico. Spring Break.

I've never drank so much in my life, including CL ProNom shots at the bar (**fictional**). Amazingly, I never got sick (must have been the ProNom) or had a hangover. My hotel would cook mass amounts of beef, chicken nuggets and fries which we would pound at 4-5am hit the sack for 3-4 hours and be on the beach by 8-8:30am. There was all the typical spring break hijinx which I can't go into details on - what happens on Spring Break stays at Spring Break. The cool part was on the second night I saw Russell Peters, the famous Canadian comic (this was early in his career). It turned out he was staying at my resort and I partied with him every other night. He's obviously not the best looking guy, but we all got mad booty just chilling with him and his crew.

Anybody else with a good story for a 2005 artifact they have?

I don't have any wild stories from 05 because I was a straightedge high school freshman, but 2005 was when I began my iron journey. I lifted before goofing around, but this Tee shirt was given to me by my first personal trainer, a national level amateur bodybuilder who laid the foundation for proper technique and eating, and taught me the true meaning of hard work in the gym. I showed up at his place as a 160lb wrestler trying to get to 150, and when we parted ways six months later, I was 190 and ready for varsity football. The rest, as they say, is history. I also modified the design of that shirt logo into my first tattoo.

Btw TheSolution my mom is also a McDowell grad!

You have relatives in Erie?

Yep my grandparents lived on Zimmerly Rd. for a million years and now they live in senior apartments overlooking Prep's practice field. One of my grandpa's wisest navigation lessons I ever learned was "All roads lead to Peach Street eventually."

I know exactly where that is downtown. About 5 minutes from me. Not far at all!
If you are ever in town let me know. We can meet up.

I've been trying to find something from '05 to do another entry but just haven't found anything good yet. Still looking though!!

When are you closing this down?

Wish I had some of the supps I bought from '05...Ripped Fuel, 6-Oxo, Sports One Halo, etc.

HMB...

Lol!

I didn't even know what supps there were then except for creatine.

I do remember having a 355 squat and 145 bench. That ratio is about the same still lol

'05 marked the end of my shooting competition days. After winning 14 medals and plaques (mostly 1st & 2nd and only 1 3rd) the previous year, I only competed twice in '05 taking home a 1st and a 2nd. I grew tired of the way the competitions took so long between shooters and stations while standing in the heat of the day during most of the shoots. I just wanted to shoot!! It was getting to be expensive keeping my .45 Custom Kimber and custom Mark II .22 fed with the constant practice. I grew tired of reloading all the dang time even though I have a pretty nice progressive loader that makes it go quickly. Some of my friends at the shoots were also getting bored so we started just making up our own shoots that had a little more excitement level out at one of their houses. That didn't last too long either. Perhaps if I would have had the money to travel to more competitions and shoot with more unknown people, I would have kept it up longer? I have been missing it for the past couple years so I think I'm going to try to go to a few shoots this year and see how I do.

I always said you were a straight shooter

Just an addendum to my entry:

Today marks 10 years ago, to the day, that I met my wife. It also coincidentally happens to be the day before my 40th birthday :)

Here's my '05 Chevy Colorado. 96,000 miles and the first big purchase I made when I got my full time job. Still running strong! With my kid due in May though, I have to consider a replacement; either extended cab or something else entirely.

Hope you lady's and gents are having a good weekend.

But stop what you're doing and put in an entry!

I'll get one in tomorrow morning.

Hey, guys. I have some personal stuff happening the next day or two so I won't be as frequent on here. Get me some more entries though! The more I get, the faster it ends!!!!!

Awesome bro! May 14th is our date.
congrats both of you. Wife is pregnant with our second. Not sure if you guys have kids but I can honestly say it's the best thing ever. And I was beyond scared and not ready. It truly is a blessing.

Now. I got my three tubs yesterday. Orange cream was bombbbb. I'll update reviews of flavors in a day or two.

I agree, man. #2 for us as well. Less scary this time around, now that I already know I can keep a human being alive lol

Orange cream is the shiz!! Can't decide between Snickerdoodle or Frosted Cinnamon Bun. I think the cinnamon bun. You can actually taste the frosting.

Once I get on a computer in the next day or two, I'll make a review thread for PROmore in the review section.

This will be our first baby!

And to reiterate what this promo is all about: EVERY CONTROLLED LABS CAPSULE PRODUCT

I'm stoked about the possibility of winning just the "blue" series - my personal favorite of CL. Gene, Growth, Up - all have helped me do some serious damage in the weight room and the bedroom.

Awesome, man. It's a trip. Being a dad is cool as F.

Here's a pic from my first trip to the East Coast in the summer of 2005! This was the year that my life changed! After this trip was when I started my weight loss journey and moved my family from Arkansas to South Carolina where I would become an addict.... Of iron! Lol

I don't have an artifact because I left behind most of my belongings at the time....

I married in 2001, moving to Clarksville, TN from Jacksonville, Florida, for the next few years. My residency in TN was great and I met some great friends, but it was almost a stalled chapter of my life. The marriage I reluctantly got involved with ended horribly, and I kind of just played around outside of my unfinished college at APSU.

Fast forward to 2005.

I received a call two nights before Super Bowl XXXIX, on February 4th, from a family member, after midnight, confessing they have become addicted to hard drugs and didn't know what to do, and believed it was past the point of self-recovery.

The following day I quit my job, packed up whatever I could fit in my single-cab F150, and headed back to my hometown of Jacksonville.

My memory of the drive home was similar to this picture as I crossed the bridge in from I-10, the day before Jacksonville.'s first and only Super Bowl:

That's the start of my memories for 2005. It was a rough year, but without moving back for that reason I probably never would have met my amazing wife, started and ran some fun businesses, nor would I be where I am today.

Fwiw, the family member eventually sobered up.

Nashville. I guess close is relative, as Clarksville is about 45 minutes or so from me.

That's pretty close. I'd travel down frequently, as there isn't much in Clarksville.

Really surprised that there aren't a ton of entries already!!! I guess people don't know what's on the line here.

This pic was in 2005 and I was unhealthy, very overweight, 280 lbs and had no plan on changing. My mentallity was weak, my habits were addictive and my actions were nothing to be proud of. Every now and then i look back and use this for motivation. For a reference to what was and inspiration for whats to become. I have changed my life completely and am much happier as a result. I am stronger physically, mentally and spirtually. I am a strong man for my family, friends and myself. I had not used any controlled labs products back then, but my a$$ could have used some orange triad and red acid for sure!!!! Lmao. Good luck everyone, lets get stronger!!!
