Yeah, Texas certainly got hosed. But hey, look on the bright side... your QB and your O-line will be back with a vengeance next year. With a little better play at defense, the 'Horns should take the Big 12 (again) next year.
Just enjoy what the Gators do to Oklahoma in a few weeks, when the Sooners see a real defense... not that Swiss cheese you guys have in the Big 12.
Oh Im very ready. I hope FL runs up the score and "Big Game" Stoops blows it again. Our O-Line was pretty meh this year actually, but we have 3 solid 4 star linemen coming in and that should help things. Not to mention Colt is pissed off, as he should be.
Utah will get "Hawaiied." I was praying for Ball State to play Bama and go undefeated just because I used to live in Indianapolis and I hated Ball State with a passion.

Welcome to the thread, TT. If you want a chuckle or two, go back to page 9 or so... and catch up on all the smack that's been talked throughout the season. You'll certainly notice how much love we have for the Big Ten in here (yes sarcasm).
I have a feeling Georgia Tech is gonna run up and down the field on LSU, and Boston College will likely outscore Vandy in a defensive battle. Other than that, I think the SEC will fare pretty well in the postseason. You might as well give in and root for Georgia... 'cause they're going to destroy Michigan State! :hammer:

Well, i have to stay true to the SEC even with my distaste of certain teams.
I agree, georgia tech should whoop LSU pretty good. If you told me that at the beginning of the year i would have laughed, but damn, LSU has bigtime QB/Offensive strategy issues.
I wont call it a blowout, but there shouldnt be any doubt as to which team should have been there winning the NC. I would have loved to have seen OU-Texas for a national championship. The hate that game would be played with would be just incredible.
The only scenario its close is if Texas reacted the wrong way and is just depressed from its being epicly shafted.
Ball States coach left for San Diego State...the #119th ranked team if Im remembering right. Haha.
Hey jmh... I have a new theory. Tommy Tubberville says he's taking a year off and will only coach in the future at a place where he can help win a championship. If Randy Shannon doesn't meet or exceed all expectations next season, I can see Tubbs being offered the job. You know as well as I do that he knows defense, having won three NCs there as DC.
DeMarco Murray OUT for BCS Championship game. Ruptured tendon in hamstring, needs surgery. Big loss for the Sooners. He's 3rd in the country in all purpose yards.

Too bad for Murray...he is truly a gifted athlete...I wish him a speedy and healthy recovery. Now as for the Sooners...Never Liked Oklahoma and I am a Florida (in general...not necessarily a UF fan, but since my team sucked again this year...yes FSU...I am pulling for the Gators) fan so that just means the Gators should have fun destroying the Sooners! Go Gators!

That's the 2nd thing I thought after "God Auburn is being run by idiot boosters". Makes a lot of sense on our end.
It fits with what alot of us think about Shannon. Next year is his last in his contract. If we don't get to the ACC title game, strong possibility he's out. He'll have stocked the roster for whomever like no other.
Tubbs needs a year off. I don't think he did that with another job in mind in '09, though.
I'd take Tubbs in a heartbeat. I love Shannon - he's my guy. But Tubbs knows how to win and win now. Shannon is still learning quite a bit and hasn't figure out how to pick the right coordinators, yet (other than Bill Young at DC).
He'd fit in well at Miami. Just needs a better OC than we have now, Pat Nix.
Rubber,
I won't be making it to SanFran. My grandmother (in northeast TN) has taken a turn for the worse. I don't want to be that far away if something were to happen. I'll be in Gainesville for Xmas.

I'm really sorry to hear that, buddy. I hope her condition improves. You've got your priorities straight.
I'll try to take some pics at the game and post 'em up. The following day, my wife and I are taking a student of mine to the 49ers-Redskins game, so it looks like it's gonna be a busy (and expensive) weekend.
There's always next year... when Bama busts up the Canes in Pasadena... right?:run:
Ok Plenny. Whever you are - hope you saw the Monday Night game last night.
-10 wind chill.
Greg Olson from The U - 5 catches for 50 yards and a TD.
Matt Forte from Tulane - 73 yards rushing and a TD.
Alex Brown Gator - blocked the potential GW field goal.
Now - STOP with all that cold weather crap.
Now I know good and well you'll come back next year spouting the same stuff. But seriously brah.
Saban wins AP Coach of the Year in his second season at Alabama.
Counting this award, here is how Saban's contract shapes out with incentives for the 2008 season...
Salary .................................. $3,750,000
Reaching SEC title game ........... $75,000
Reaching BCS bowl game ........ $125,000
SEC coach of the year ............... $25,000
National coach of the year .......... $50,000
Total ....................................... $4,025,000
Seems like a lot of dough, but...
Having the #1 recruiting class, being at the top of the polls for five weeks after starting the season unranked, watching Clemson, Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Auburn coaches get canned after trouncing them, blanking your in-state rival who's owned you for six seasons, making it to a BCS bowl for the first time in a decade, and officially bringing back Alabama football to the 93,000 fans who pay to come to your games .............
I don't care how bad the Sooners beat Oklahoma State tomorrow, Texas should absolutely play in the Big 12 Championship Game. All this absurd back-and-forth between those talking heads on ESPN is fueling a groundless debate. Texas beat OU... so that's that... and you can't exactly argue for Texas Tech after the thrashing they took either.
Oh, and if Colt McCoy doesn't win the Heisman, it will be a travesty. I'm not a big Texas fan, but I gotta call it like I see.
Yeah, Texas certainly got hosed. But hey, look on the bright side... your QB and your O-line will be back with a vengeance next year. With a little better play at defense, the 'Horns should take the Big 12 (again) next year.
You just owned yourself, newb. Throughout this thread, I've been nothing but complimentary of Longhorns' season and how they got shafted. All the Texas fans have been bitching and whining, and everyone let them vent. I never brought up the fact that maybe Karma has bitten your coach in the ass for literally begging for votes at the end of the 2004 season to barely slip by Cal in the polls, after the Bears wouldn't run up the score on Southern Miss. You can read all about your boys' classy deeds here: Invalid Link Removed
Outside of the Lone Star State, your Longhorns aren't exactly beloved... especially out here on the west coast.
Btw, in case it's the money you're hating on...
"In November, the University of Texas Board of Regents voted unanimously to raise Brown's salary by $300,000. This brings his annual compensation to $2.81 million and keeps him among the five highest paid coaches in the sport. The package also includes up to $3 million dollars in bonuses, including "$100,000 if he wins the Big 12 Championship and $450,000 if he wins the national championship, as well as bonuses based on the percent of players who graduate." Brown's contract is good through the 2016 season."
But hey, I get it. You're probably one of those guys who puts the "Don't Mess With Texas" bumper stickers all over his luggage.

Calm down. Longhorns actually have one of the largest fanbases. See, this is what I was talking about. How many other people would go through all that over one little comment. Most of the other forums I go to, Bama fans are almost just..well there is usually a token Bama fan. Blind to anything that doesnt involve worshipping Bear Bryant and Lynard Skynard (Granted I love LS). A few hang onto "2008 National Recruiting Champion" tags. When people were talking about their programs decline, it was, well we have a bajillion national championships from the 1900s. Abusurdity. It was more of a comment in jest, I dont really care. Just explaining at this point. And when I travel, I only have a Dont **** With Texas sticker on my rifle case. This is hardly Karma. This is getting ****ed over, 2nd to 2004 Auburn in recent memory. Losing out to get to the Big XII game to OU, losing the heisman to OU in the same season? Texas has a much better case than Florida to be in the NC.

Look, as I suggested to you before, you should read through the previous pages of this thread. You can't walk in around the 44th page and start making assumptions. I'm the last person you'll see wearing a houndstooth hat, and I've been a Tide fan for 30 years. My loyalty to my team has little to do with my seemingly snippy response... it has more to do with retorting to those who speak out of their asses. This thread is for talking smack, as expressed on the first page. If you had a feel for personalities here, you'd understand that my response was all in jest as well. I've already spoken on typical Bama fans, and I actually agree with your sentiments to an extent. I've mentioned many times that there's a reason why I've resided in California for years, even though I grew up in Alabama. As for your adoration of Skynyrd tunes and rifles... well, that just speaks for itself! Seriously though, I had a few Texas buddies in the Navy... and they put those damn stickers everywhere. It was ridiculous.
I should just let Trauma or Gator Alum respond to this, but... dude, lay off the eggnog! Saying that Texas has a better case than Florida is just misplaced revulsion. Florida deserves to be there. Oklahoma... well, not so much. Regardless, even if the 'Horns were playing in the NC against the Gators, they would only leave extremely disappointed. But... I'm guessing you already know that.
"Now, does your conscience bother you? Tell the truth.":trout:

Good lord, phillistine, why in God's holy name would you be in California? Its the largest collection of ****ing idiots this world has ever seen. Any shred of decency, morality, respect, and all things good and right are thrown out the window in their culture. The land is great but...the people are just such flaming shallow *******s. I know because a ****ton are moving to Austin and frankly, are ****ing it up. Austin was a great town but the dipshit jackass out of towners who dont know how to act right just are wrecking everything that made Austin great.
There is no crime in loving where you are from. Before you assume Im a slack jacked inbred, I originally was going to school on an academic scholarship for engineering. Not exactly the dumb type. Now I work at the capitol on a legislative staff.
Floridas loss - Ole Miss at home by 10, Ole Miss is rounding out the Top 25?
Texas' loss - #7 Texas Tech in the final seconds, still ranked top 10 in the BCS
Texas' Schedule - Harder
And I have heard all of the "Texas is going to get stomped. They are just too good! Look at their offense." Except last time, ESPN called it the best team of all time. Im sure we all remember 2005 Texas-USC.

Running up the score every game doesnt make you a unstoppable offense, it makes you trying to do all you can to compensate for a pathetic loss at home. Texas, like Alabama, has a ball control offense. They dont go for the 15 yard passes, they get the 5-6 yards and have a 10 play, 80 yard drive. It pays off in the 4th and wins games. It doesnt reach under the covers and start getting flirtacious with voters like OU/Floridas style does but it works much better. See OU-Texas. OU didnt forget to show up, they scored 5 TDs and Texas didnt take the lead until it was late in the game. Besides, tell you dont want to see Orakpo sack Tebow a few times. The SECs dominance isnt unmatched anymore.

Not the dumb type, huh? What about the homophobic type... and the rifle-toting type... and the narrow-sighted type... and the type who considers himself a titan at 5'5"... and the type who still clings to supposed intellectual prestige of being an engineering major for two whole semesters... and the type who thinks if he says "on a legislative staff," then no one will know that means "glorified secretary"... and the type who tries to promote his menial position as distinguished... because it's at the capitol building? Any of those types fit?
TexasTranny, that has to be the most callow post I've read on these forums. Do us a huge favor and just don't post in this thread. You've made it clear that you're a cancer... and frankly, not very clever.
I'm guessing you've never been to the Bay Area. Funny, 'cause I've been to Austin a few times... and it's a yokel-infested deposit of slack. Am I really supposed to believe people from California are making a mass movement to... (gulp)... Austin? C'mon now. (rubberring holds his head in his hands)
I wasn't going to respond to any more of your narrow-minded childishness. In fact, I was just going to block you completely. However, I was looking forward to you explaining to me how you pack a rifle in a Piggly-Wiggly bag for travel. Plus... well, you're just too much fun!
Thanks for showing me all about decency, morality, and respect though. Now, go make your bosses some coffee, so they can fix your secondary ESL program. There are 140,000 limited-English middle and high school students in Texas... and at least one more in the capitol building.
Hey brainiac, you might spread to your fan base that you come off as tragically unaware to those who are astute enough to know that Los Angeles and Pasadena are actually two different cities. ((sigh))
It was by 1 point, genius. I know, I know... it's that whole 'multiples of ten' thing that gets confusing for you. A few of my special 2nd graders had a similar processing issue. They weren't the dumb type either.

Texas Titan was what I was called when I was boxing. Because of my history lifting, I had exceptional power for my size. Yeah, I dont really have a love affair with gay people, I dont really care to limit firearms, and I see youre so open minded and tolerant telling me not to post here anymore. Im hardly a secretary, but its great you know just what I do. I dont give two rats asses about impressing you, but qualifying for an academic scholarship does in fact show intellectual capability undeniably. And despite not falling into your intolerant tolerant peoples culture, I think I do pretty well. Im glad youre in california, where everyones a moron like you.
I do find it pretty funny that you get so worked up. You have responded separately in how many posts now? The whole Pasadena/Los Angeles thing? Haha, yes, Im sure a suburb is totally different. Infact, its about equidistant from Texas. Good call there. Clearly this hit a little nerve, otherwise you wouldnt be bitching and whinning so much. Stop being such a damn girl, and file an absurd lawsuit or something. Jesus.
No, thats just a cop out. Another reliable california trait, you think youre better and more sophisticated than everyone else. "He drives a truck, he must be a commoner..a knuckle dragging conservative who doesnt understand the world like I do! If only everyone was like me!" I really dont feel the need to exemplify perfect grammar on the internet. I dont really feel the need to impress you on..the internet. You mentioned leaving Alabama and being a tide fan for what, 30 years? How old does that make you? You must feel like a badass talking **** over the internet at your age and acting like an infant. You MUST be right, you MUST show everyone that YOU, and only YOU, are capable of intelligent thought. Different way of thinking than me!?! Never, Im so damn open and tolerant, I wont allow it! In the same fashion extremely liberal people coat their cars in bumper stickers letting everyone know their opinions, you feel the need to blast yours, like you didnt get enough attention or something. There is nothing wrong with being liberal, my entire family are registered dems and voted for Obama, as did I. I wasnt particularly happy with it, but I felt out of the two, he was better. But moral of this story is, you say I have little man syndrome? What about you? Look at how adamant and just pissy youve been over this page. Seriously, Im kinda sitting wondering how hard you have to go just to prove yourself. Grow up and stop being so insecure.
And sooner guy, blow me. 45-35. Florida will give you a gaping *******.
Haha we'll see I guess. I want ou to win just so I can turn on espn and hear mack brown crying 'Neutral site...neutral site. That should've been us.' He's a baby.

I'm guessing it took you 45 minutes and three Nicholson best-of clips to get that out of your system! You are truly a precarious twat to start rambling about politics and tolerance, and how all liberals are judging you. Boo-hoo. Dude, it's just ME calling you out! Don't get so paranoid. You're the one who typed: "The land is great but...the people are just such flaming shallow *******s." in reference to all of California, a state that has more people than Canada. See, when I was implying redneck ignorance through the use of bumper stickers... I just meant YOU in particular.
Man, if you think I'm truly affected by your illogical rubbish, you're just delusional. I've been chuckling my rear off to this all day! Now that you've offered up your life story, which includes your days as an unbelievably strong flyweight boxer, your vague legislative position, your family's voting record, and your disdain for homosexuals (which screams in the closet, btw), I just find you to be more pathetic than I originally thought. Entertaining as hell though. Keep it comin'!
Btw, since you're curious, I'm 35 years old. I'm guessing you're in your early 20s and you'll process that as "old." And no, I don't feel like a badass handing you your ass on the internet... I'd do it if you lived right next door. Oh, and since we're sharing, I double-majored in Psychology and Childhood Studies... and you most certainly have Little Man Syndrome. It's r-e-a-l-l-y obvious. Now, dry those tears and go drink some Muscle Milk, lil' guy.
If you want to keep on going with this, just PM me. Your LMS is derailing this thread.
TexasTitan, i'm sick and tired of hearing you piss and moan about texas and the national championship. Fact is, they're NOT in it this year, so GET THE FUKC OVER IT! :nutkick:
Florida is argueably the best team in college football, and there is no denying that.
If you want to continue to b*tch about it like a freakin' skirt, please go start your own thread where you can sit and pout about it. Nobody has any sympathy for texas anymore in this thread (what i personally had, is now gone), i can assure you that.
My B-day is on Jan.1st (I'll be 30....), so it should be a doosy. The wife and i have talked about the possibility of going to the championship game (miami is only about 3.5 hours from me), so that isn't ruled out yet. We'll see how it all unfolds.

Im derailing this thread? You posted 4 times in a row bitching at me. But Im derailing this thread. Ok. Ohhh, tough guy. "Id hand it to if you were next door." Man, you are such a little girl. Little man syndrome? Ill bet money if you didnt know my height, you wouldnt have even mentioned it. Im glad you can completely profile someone over an internet post. One hell of a degree. Even though youre the one who got all worked up and were adamantly bitching this entire time, Im the one whose trying to overcompensate. Im glad youre oh so wise. If you really want to know what I do, I handle constituent work and do bill research and tracking. I basically do bill summaries for the house member to read and decide how to vote and track bills that interest our office. I rarely help with bill drafting. Thats what I do. You know, getting coffee and stupid inbred things. I wasnt an unbelievably strong flyweight, I was a lightweight, and relatively strong considering most fighters at my weight. You made a comment about it, I explained where it was from, and now I guess youre bitching about it somemore. Had I just explained that I wasnt stupid with no background, you would have bitching at me for saying "Im not stupid" with no sound reasoning to back it up. Redneck ignorance through bumper stickers? The ratio is pretty stacked towards annoying liberal bumper stickers, and I dont really get how bumper stickers are relevant in general. I dont have any, but Im sure you "knew" I did thanks to your psychological profile. Ive met more than a few californians, and theyve all been the same. Everyone who I know who moved there, military, school, whatever says the same things. Cry about it some more. Seriously, you seem to be perfectly projecting everything you say about me. Go ahead and say youre sitting there laughing, like you somehow arent worked up, cradled over your computer with nothing better to do. Jesus, at 35, you should be way grown up past this, but I guess liberals dont act their age either. Im done, if there are only Gaytors, Sooners, and bammers, this is a football talk hell. And for the record, Im not a homophobe, not at all. I know, I know, its great to polarize things, but you dont have to hate gays to not be their biggest fans and supporters. Saying Im stupid, derailing this thread, overcompensating is a great tactic, it makes you seem in control and much smarter. It doesnt make it so, but it sure has made everyone buy your brand. Enjoy your supieriority. You are a king in your own mind. Thank goodness you dont play ULM this year.
Yes, because through no fault of their own but tiebreaker rules was Texas not allowed to win their conference. This is usually what I hear from USC fans. Who honestly believe that winning your conference is the ONLY way to be a good football team. Hell, if the SEC rules had been in place in the Big XII, you wouldnt be saying that right now. So because of the rules, Texas wasnt allowed in.
Nice...centering..I didnt bitch in the first place, it was the california bammer who has dedicated this page to me. I dont give a **** if Texas doesnt have your sympathy anymore. Why would I care? Florida is argueably the best team...what a convienient statement. It merely says, you could make a case that they are without saying they are. You could do that for any team in the Top 5. And the FMJ thing is very original. Never heard that one before. Clearly you got a gold star for thinking outside the box in school.
Reggie Bush did jack **** until the last year or two. Even then, for what he gets paid, the Saints made a poor investment. I would have rather given the saints an everydown back like something along the lines of michael turner. A better comparison is the OTHER heisman winner, the QB counterpart of VY. Leinart. Hows that going?
Yeah, people are falling over themselves to meet Oklahomos. Shut up. Florida will rape you. Another team who just shouldnt be in the NC, Florida got lucky again.
rubberring you are a disgrace to Bama fans everywhere. We southerners are known for our hospitality and overall good sense of how we should treat people. Not sure if you're FROM the south or not, but I can tell you that you're making the rest of us look bad. We, as Bama fans, should know that our team is NOWHERE NEAR the best in the country. We got lucky a few times. Quite frankly, we're lucky we didn't get throttled in the SECCG.
Texas 100% deserves to be in the BCG MNC game over Florida. When you look at the schedules of UF and UT, you will see that UT played a tougher schedule. UF didn't really play anyone till UA in the SECCG. You are out of your mind if you think there is any argument that you can make for UF over UT. The only thing that is even possible is regarding style points. THAT is a retarded argument. Compare the number of FCS teams each played.
As for berating a fellow college football fan, you're the one being caused to look stupid. Insinuating that someone is a homosexual? Being happy about "handing someone their ass" over the internet when you are a 35 year old man? Little man syndrome? Why? Because you two have differing political beliefs?
You, sir, might wanna go analyze your ways of thought before trying to berate another person's. You talk trash about that guy being "intolerant", yet you're looking quite intolerant yourself. Quite frankly, I'm disgusted by the way that you have acted here as a fellow Bama fan. But go ahead and do your thing. "Hand me my ass" via the internet and make yourself feel like a man. Maybe you're the one with little man syndrome.
What is this... Amos and Andy? Abbott and Costello? Good Lord. Let me guess... you're TexasTool's little brother. It's not at all suspicious that you'd suddenly show up. I really don't have it in me to respond to this silliness. You're both (wink, wink) just ridiculous in every way. If I learn one more personal detail about TT's life, I'm going to cry. I'll tell you both again, if you wanna keep going with this... just PM me and spare everyone else. I'm just going to ignore you both from now on. (What are the odds you both have the same IP address? So sad.)
Trauma, Old Gator... we are being invaded by inept cretin(s).
And now back to college football...
jmh, it was a great game tonight. Cal was running a clinic on how to give a win away for a while, 'til the D came through on that late play. Best was ridiculous... and completely under-utilized. The crowd was clownin' on Longshore all night, screaming "Don't pass!"
