Oklahoma State's doing all they can to help Texas out. Great game... but does anyone in the Big 12 play defense? C'mon...
No kidding, it's almost pathetic.
Without a doubt in my mind texas deserves to play in the big 12 champ game.
Let's see what happens though when a top ranked SEC defense (Bama) throws a monkey wrench into the big 12 offensive mindset.
We all know Bama is going to score on offense regardless.![]()
Anyone catch the KU vs MU game? Oldest Rivalry ever...It was such an awesome game...KU 40 - 37 MU
Either way... the mighty SEC wins!!!:clap2:
that, you are correct but they were not playing florida or alabama ...The irony is the ACC took 3 out of 4 from the SEC yesterday.
Yeah, I live close to Oakland... and that team and its owner are a cancer to the league. I can't see Monty stepping down to college, mostly because it would make his son look like a suckling. Tennessee certainly has the fan base (over 100,000 fans at every game) and the facilities, so all they need are a few big name offensive recruits to start turning it around. I expected them to hire someone with significant head coaching experience, but a young gun might be what they need.
Wish I could say I wish 'em the best... but it's Tennessee. It's in my blood to hate on them.
Hey, what the hell happened to LSU? Guess it's harder to win without all of Nick's recruits!Seriously, I'm waiting for the Les Miles backlash to be in full swing next year if they lose a couple of games early, and Saban's still winning.
rubbering, I know the rivalry thing, but I really don't think you guys have anything to worry about from Auburn this year. I'd be more worried about the championship game.
I'll tell you though, the GA Tech/UGA game scares me. Tech put up some points on what I thought was supposed to be a solid Miami defense. You have to be a disciplined defense to go against the tiple option and UGA isn't known for their discipline on defense.
Two words for Miami: run defense.
They gave up 281 rushing yards to FSU, 472 to Georgia Tech, and N.C. State has over 200 yards halfway through the 3rd quarter. Bill Young's defenses have been solid in the past, so I'm sure he'll get the job done after this year... but man, Miami's D is just fundamentally bad.
Btw... Georgia's in trouble!
possibly the greatest post in AM history![]()
I'm still crying over the UGA-GT game.
A season of such high expectations, a team with so much talent, and yet, ends up with 3 losses.
And if Stafford enters the NFL draft, next year will be rough.
Rubber,
Handicap me Zona or Cal against Miami in the (no homo) Nut Bowl in San Francisco on Dec. 27th.
That is ESPN's projections at this point.
I know Cal has Javid Best, who's pretty good, but seemingly terrible QB play. I know little of Zona, other than Stoops is the HC and the DC was the Stoops that was at Miami as DB coach in the '01 timeframe.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Yeah but it's a 3 way tie. All this 45-35 crap is somewhat moot. It's not a Texas vs. OU race, brah.
I support OU because of their better OOC schedule. They beat the Big East champ (for what that's worth) Cincy and TCU. That's better than Texas whipping of Arkansas (who was in the middle of a terrible, terrible stretch of football).
All things in conference being equal - I look at out of conference and will support OU.

EDIT: Guess I was off! Seriously... that's bullsh#t. That's the last I'll say about it. I'll let the Big 12 fans battle it out.
Either way, the next (just like the two previous) national champs will be from the SEC. So... there's that.
Just saw the BCS a little bit ago. OU jumped Texas. Let the controversy begin.
Definitely disagree with you here. It really should be a two-horse race. If the Big-12 mimicked the SEC (not sure if the ACC operates the same), they would look at the two teams out of the three with the highest BCS rankings... and then see if there is a head-to-head winner between the two from earlier in the season. If not, the highest ranked team goes. But if one team beat the other... even if they are ranked lower... they go.
We all b#tch about having a playoff... and that's exactly what head-to-head is: a playoff. If it doesn't count... then it's pretty hard to support a playoff argument imo.
Maybe Monte Kiffin will be following Lane to Tennessee after all:

Same song, different year.
Read up on 2000 and the FSU/Miami controversy.
I rooted for OU to make it so we possibly get a step closer to a playoff. All this crap yet again should hopefully let some people feel guilty about this retarded situation. Hopefully someone goads the fat cats at the bowls/NCAA because of this happening for a 2nd time.
Amen to that, brother! :clap2:
I still think texas was hosed, it's bullsh*t if you ask me. Texas beats Oklahoma on a neutral field, yet they get the cold shoulder....wow. I'm so freakin' sick of hearing about bradford and stoops. I hope the SEC (Florida or Bama) breaks those pansies in half.
GO SEC!
My peeps in Knoxville think it's a done deal.
What do you think about it? Ya boy scheming his Tampa 2 defenses against ya boy and Crier/Liar. :whip:
Definitely pulling for a Missouri upset on Saturday. Texas would have the last laugh if that happens. It will suck for them to sit at home and watch two teams who they beat play each other for a conference championship. An OU loss would put them in the title game vs. UF or Bama. That would be justice.

Monte Kiffin's Tampa 2 defenses are freakin' scary. The guy is a defensive mastermind. I would really miss the guy here in tampa, because we love him with the bucs.
If UT does get monte, it's a HUGE upgrade that will without a doubt increase their market value and recruitment.
As Old Man Corso would say - no so fast my friendo. If you look at the precedent last year, Texas would NOT make it to the championship - it would be likely USC (a team that won it's conference).
UGa didn't make it and they didn't win the SEC East last year. I don't see Texas making it after they (A) didn't win the Big 12 South (yes yes I know) and (B) didn't even win the Big 12!!!
There's only been one time in the history of the BCS that a team that didn't win it's side of the conference made the title game - Nebraska in '01. And I think enough stink was made by Colorado that it won't happen again.
The more I think about it Monte is the best part in this deal for UT. He's made 3 or 4 defensive assistants DC's or HC's somewhere in the NFL. The dude knows how to groom.
Hell you already talked about his schemes.
He's a well, well, well known quantity. Lane not so much. He'll be a freaking monster with a guy like Orgeron on the staff with him (rah rah type coach that college kids need).
Edit - I need to PM Rogue Drone about Monte. I'm pretty sure he played (though he was an LB) against his teams in the NFL. I think he'd have some insight. But I think he's in a slumber due to Auburn being beyond terrible this year.
Head to head matchups cant be considered when there is a three way tie. SO what Texas beat OU, OU beat Texas TEch, Tech beat Texas. Round and round it goes, if Tech would have lost to Baylor, then Texas would have been hosed...
Uh-oh... Kiffin's already looking like a dimwit. Gotta love Spurrier though!

He also thinks he's Jim Tressel. Kiffin told reporters "It's going to be fun hearing 'Rocky Top' after we beat Florida next year.":toofunny:
Let's not forget that in 1999, we hurt them twice, during the season and championship. We have to also remember, 05' that was a throttling where a nitwit coach ended prothro's career!SEC Championship tickets in hand!
Alright Rubbering...it's that time. What you got for game analysis, trash talking and/or score prediction?
Every SECCG Bama has played in has been against UF. This will be the sixth time that the two teams have met in the SECCG (UF won in 1993, 1994, 1996; UA won in 1992, 1999). UF is 6-2 in SEC championship games.
I think the matchup that decides the game is the Bama offense vs. UF defense. If Bama can get a huge push with their sizable OL and have success w/ the run, UF is in trouble. If not, we win going away. The two rushing offenses are equally productive, but Florida has an edge in passing offense. Alabama has an edge in overall defense, particularly against the run.
Thoughts?
I got UF 38-17
