its a pretty legit issue to be examining...condoms are readily available and inexpensive, yet they often arent used. if researches could help pinpoint the reasons males avoid condoms, they might be able to increase the percentage of men who wear them

Increased condom use =

1. Fewer unwanted pregnancies, especially among teens
2. Fewer STDs, especially HPV, lower rates of cervical cancer

Fewer unwanted pregnancies=fewer people on welfare, fewer convicts

Fewer STDs + Less HPV + Lower Rates of Cancer = Lower health care expenditure, including lower public health care expenditure.

If they could manage to increase condom usage by 1% as a result of this study, my guess is that it would pay off considerably.

I know why they don't use them. It can be constricting or very troublesome to go from a heated passionate moment to "hold on for a sec". the time from moving to one place to another can give some guys enough break in romance to lose erection. etc etc. However, that's small considering what you get from using them... Lower risk of STD's, unplanned kids and higher doc bills :)
