Challenge time, are you in?

You forced me to bench when I had shoulder pain just for this challenge and now you're saying we don't have to? I want a refund. lol

Hahaha, I did weighted dips before the challenge, I gonna sue myself!

So I officially hate you! Lol. For the first time in 25 years I felt weak! Ok, given that it was after a serious chest session - but wth?!
First set knocked 145 easy enough. 2nd set all I could get was 15. Then I forced 10 for the next sets. Well, at least I walked away with a nice tri pump!
240 sad total :/

Btw, If you're taking suggestions for the next challenge: how about one set of curls till failure with a 45lb bar?

Rules changed a tiny bit (don't hate me,LOL). We can now do the challenge fresh - and not necessarily to failure .
The rule change came after one member did not to failure due to wrist problems. The "use as finisher rule" is void, because everyone uses triceps in his previous workouts more- or less.
"not to failure necessary" -gives us now more freedom how to do them, with- or without strength savings in the first sets.
Hopefully, you all agree on this. No ill intentions here.

Hehehe! Working on it. Something like: curls standing against a wall. Will wait to see how the first challenge turns out.

Seated Lateral raises with 10s, seated hammer curls with 10s
135 bench press
Seated leg extensions with 50lbs
Deadlifts with 135

I could go on and on... Or we could pump up the poundages lol

That's what makes bodybuilding fun! Creativity!
BTW, Deads with 135 will leave you in a wheelchair after 10 sets to failure, LOL.
Imagine it with back pumps from D-bol, it will be worse than water boarding.

Good god. I was thinking one all out set when i wrote it. Hell no for ten sets...

Fine I'll do it again and snap my damn wrists off if it pleases the court lmao

I used to run some of these on this board. We liked to do things by percentage of body weight to get the Strength per lb ratios in play.

So would be things like 150% BW squats for max reps, or Body Weight bench for x amount of sets and reps. Made it even more fun because with the weighted ratio the big and small guys a like could have a point of equal comparison.

I would do this one but not sure coach would approve right now and I am following the plan to a tee.

In for skwaaaartz of any kind......as long as I can still hold the bar after this challenge!

A challenge on everything would be fun. We should pick one new one a week.

You can do it your way now. Total final number counts, failure -or not, your choice.

Each challenge lasts a week- ten days and the winner gets to pick the next challenge ?

Nah, challenge stays until nobody updates, because the first numbers are warm-up, LOL
I would love to see others posting challenges too, but most members are not as active here to supervise and modify numbers.
I volunteer to host 2 challenges max. Second challenge will be up shortly today, my promise: it will be more wicked than the first one, satisfying my sadistic gene watching you all suffer!
Muhahaha!

Second challenge up for your masochistic needs. No changes to the rules in future, promise.

I'll do a challenge thread soon. Maybe have a prize or two as well.

My long heads are sooo sore.

Did it again AFTER the shoulder challenge

50/40/35/35/35/36/35/35/30/40 Total = 371 (keep in mind -with 11lbs DB's, 2x5kg) <---- had to mention that to keep my ego intact

I just finished and didn't even count since it was video taped, once I finished I look at my phone and it wasn't recording :'(

I don't give a damn where you are grab something that looks ~10lb ish and do it for 4 more reps! That way your 1 rep above me!

HG's Tricep Challenge:
55/25/26/18/15/18/15/16/14/13
Total: 215

Done at the beginning of my sesh today. Not a bad total, but I didn't meet HG's expectations of 300 reps lol. I could come up with 10 excuses as to why I didn't, but none of them matter! Tri's were HURTIN' bad by the 4th set. All sets taken to failure. Pump afterward made working chest extremely difficult. I'll be adding this to my bag of tricks.

I counted them! As you did the challenge after your workout, you have the potential to double on reps when fresh.

I will, young padawan, I will. Damn it! The race is on! Next goal for me is 400, my preparation for this:
-run up the hill at 5pm like rocky, on my knees
-swimming naked in a pond full of electric eels
-wrestle a male bear and squeeze his balls out, drinking the juice

That's a surprise. I bet if you would have saved strength, instead going to failure, the outcome would be different, for me it was a 100 rep more!
Time to shine in the second challenge, before repeating the first.

Got up to about 25 on the first set and it felt like my tendons were going to pop so I stopped.

Sorry to hear that.
It's really a light exercise and should not provoke injuries. Are you doing overhead triceps exercises, like skull crushers or overhead cable extensions in your routine?

Nope,my tricep tendons just have their moments. I have Celebrex that clears it up as well.

Aight, I just did this and I hope the scoring is like golf. It took me 10 sets to get 58 reps. I have weak triceps, that much is clear. :)

Around 20 reps I was thinking, I can do this all day. At rep 26 I thought, maybe not. At rep 28, I failed. The next 9 sets totaled 30 reps with lots of 3 rep sets.

I did this after my chest and bi's workout.

hairygrandpa I did 183. Weak sauce I know. First set was 78 easy but after that the pump was painful and grinded out each set. This was done after an hour and a half of heavy high rep chest work from all angles. This was humbling and a great finisher. Can't wait for the shoulder challenge;).

You are fasting for weeks, wondering how much anyone could do on a 800 kcal diet.

I just don't have kind words left.
What happened here?
You have to take the challenges more serious, no more playing around and looking at girls butts while working out.
:drillsergeant:

*Just do it fresh, maybe on leg day, you'll see

I don't think I can blame that for all of it. I seriously thought, in the beginning, that 60-80 reps on the first set would be easy - and then suddenly the last 3 reps of so I just couldn't do it. Even on 800 calories my lifts haven't dropped that much. Maybe I could get close to 100 reps in 10 sets if I was eating right...I don't know. Still weak compared to everyone here, probably the weakest. My arms are def. my weak spot. But it was fun to try to compete! It's the only way to get better. Also, that's the great thing about weights. Even if I can't compete with someone else, I can always compete with myself.

Repeated the challenge again and taped it.

10 sets of 40 with 11lbs DB's. I did a couple of sets more, because I was concentrating on doing always 40 and stopping when going under 40.
I believe it to be 12 sets. 11 of 40 and one of 36.
This means I could have done 420-430 instead of only 400.
As soon as I figure out how to upload it, I will post the video here.
