Is jogging or hopping on a small trampoline a decent form of cardio starting. Schedule is pretty busy and I'm pretty fat. Cardio on trampoline good?

Walk start with around the block and whatever your eating drop that by 500 calories a day. Thats where I had my wife start and she dropped 75 lbs

It could help, but may wear you out quickly. You want to shoot for around 6,000 - 10,000 steps a day and 60 mins of activity. This with a calorie deficit will make you see amazing changes. If you can do 60 mins of trampoline a day then go for it. Not all at once of course

Thanks fellas. Ideally I'd make it to the elliptical, but been working late. Plus ive gotten so out of shape that I don't want to get crazy lightheaded

Trampoline could be bad on knees and ankles since you mentioned being overweight. I'd take advice above, start walking, then brisk walk, then work way to jogging.
My sister can attest to that her ankle has never been the same after one of the Springs broke in a trampoline and she went down onto the ground through the net. I honestly feel like those things are a little bit more dangerous than they are useful.

You can get on a treadmill and do an inclined walk at like two and a half miles an hour maybe 10% incline? After my accident I had gained almost 60 lb and I found that that was the one type of exercise that I could do reliably without causing myself anymore damage or pain.

If you like to jump up and down you can just do jumping jacks or start to jump rope. Both can be intense depending on the pace you set. Target a pace that doesn't Tire you out in just five minutes. you want to try to keep it up. I can't think of anything that's more intense than jumping rope for several minutes. Maybe a dead out run, but rope always gets my heart pumping.

Stairmasters are good so long as they're the kind that are like the miniature escalators and not the kind that have to separate pistons for each foot. That's my opinion but I tend to find that the one that have to separate pistons for each foot bother me my knees and back for whatever reason. probably high weight. Stair climbing is definitely reasonably Low-impact, and a somewhat muscle building exercise - and again your heart rate will escalate very rapidly.

Even silly stuff like lunges up and down the length of your house while holding a small weight in each hand. If you set a solid pace and you continue it can definitely be cardiovascular especially if you're a little out of shape.

They may not be very great for cardio exercises but TRX bands can be attached to the wall or into the door frame if you have a good Mount (this is key) and you can use those to do a fair amount of bodyweight exercises. If your finding that you're too out of shape to actually use weights.

If you use i them to do an assisted squat you might be able to keep that up after the lunges for even longer. by moving on to the TRX bands after you're done going up and down the house - I used to do this as well.

That's really all I can think of those are the exercises that I targeted myself for when I was very overweight and very out of shape and all of them seem to help me dramatically, I'm back in the gym now and lifting regularly and even doing normal cardiovascular exercises. Once your weight comes down to a reasonable level your joints will bother you less and you'll find that you're able to continue more strenuous exercises for even more time.

Just stay good with your schedule and make sure that you continue to work out a little bit everyday or a little bit every other day and you'll make it man!

Agreed. This is the way to go in my opinion as well. If you can get up to the point where you're jogging for a good period of time and eatting right you will see the weight shed.

Just keep this in mind, you need to progress to longer durations and more challenging things if you want progress. The easier something is usually the less effective it is. More challenging=more effective 99% of the time. But anything is better then nothing.

If you're pretty overweight, just walk around your neighborhood for 30-60 minutes whenever you get a chance. When I entered high school, I was 240 pounds. I started walking for 30-60 minutes after school, ate the same crap, but less of it, and lost 70 pounds in 10 months.

I still walk about work the dog. I got a weighted vest. That's not a starting option but man that thing kills. Most come with several slots so you can go from line 10 to x lb's.

Update: I been walking around the neighborhood. Was in worse shape than expected, started out getting really lightheaded during walks, but its been getting less and less. I think I need to fix diet plan to help more with that. But im already about 6 lbs down. If I can string more days together I might do a log. Worried skin will get really loose atm

Think about being healthy and feeling good. Try and put skin on the backburner! Just health at the forefront! Keep going. 6lbs. Is awesome.

Regardless of what you do, you want to expend/use more than you intake/eat

cardio doesn't illicit weightloss but can be a catalyst

No, actually burning calories has a direct causal impact on losing weight, thus not an intermediary catalytic effect.
Not arguing the logic of reducing intake first, cardio second-that is definitely the way to go.
I am just trying to point out that if you are going to reply to 10+ threads with meaninglessly pithy comments as you have tonight, at least make grammatical logical sense
