Cardio for dc

I was wondering if you're supposed to do cardio work on the same days that you do the lifting routine, or do you do it on the days in between each lifting session?
 
I never managed to do it inbetween, I didn't recover enough if I did. So i'd do 20 minutes after each workout

Another friend and I both do 20-40 after workouts, too, except after a lower body split. I make sure to do low intensity so it doesn't really burn too much into my stores.

EDIT: but I do high intensity on off days

good advice. i run or do hiit sometimes on off days. depends on how i feel. other times its just inc walking
