One bodybuilder I once met told me that it was okay to have a high sodium diet, as long as you drink a lot of water.

I drink at least 4L of water a day, probably closer to 8L or two gallons.

Will the high sodium intake still be a problem?

Over drinking water does flush minerals out. Are you having high blood pressure issues? Because if you are not, dont worry too much about high sodium.

High sodium means your body holds on to more water, which means there’s more water in your blood which raises blood pressure

as devonkev's arricle shows - the picture is really more complicated and water intake will dilute be used to dilute sodium in the presence of proper kidney signaling. But potassium intake is often a very important and overlooked factor. Good article @Devonkev
