California Invaded By Giant Squid !!!

Humboldt squid are listed as being found in all tropical to temperate waters, though they are most common down in the Sea of Cortez. I don't know why they are trying to say "they just showed up". I've seen old samples of them in Scripps as well as others collected from CA waters decades ago by my Icthyology professor.

These are edible, fight pretty hard and since they only live 2 years..represent a good fishery to plunder when they are around.
 
Holy sh!t, I've scuba dived in Monterey. Good thing I didn't see one of those fvckers. I would've either killed it or fainted LOL
 
Thay have been known to attack humans, but this generally only happens when commercial fishermen are slaughtering them by the thousands and sending them into a feeding frenzy.

Otherwise, reports from divers say they are intelligent, curious and usually peaceful towards humans.
