Bulking to 200lb

plane

New member
Currently 188lb bulking to 200lb on 4k+ calories a day (i get atleast 4k and go above it most days)
age:20
started at 140lb

I bulked from 170lb to 180lb on 3.5k calories a day.

Is it possible to reach 195-200lb and maintain the calories it took to get there and then get leaner without an intentional deficit (eating less than the 4k)

to sum it up: is it POSSIBLE to gain enough LBM to burn excess calories and get leaner without reducing the calories it took me to bulk.
(By leaner I only mean 10-13% bodyfat.

Yes/No answers are fine.

It states he is is 5'10", but not sure what that matters here.

In short, the answer I have is- probably. As someone who started at 145 and now walks around 210-215, there are areas of plateau as you work up in weight and you'll need to adjust your diet and workouts. I went from 145 -> 170 pretty fast with the addition of some calories and heavy workouts. Going from 170-185 was a little more difficult and I had to eat in the 4500cal range. I gained some fat, but quickly burned that off due to age as this was in my mid-20s. Going from 185->200+ took years of training and eating to support it and even then it would drop quick unless I ate a lot.

So, it is possible, but plan to adjust what you are doing now to accommodate it.

Thanks good response

Your pics look great. You got a nice waist to shoulder taper and your arms look right in line or certainly 16-17". From the appearance of your wrist size too, room to add even more mass on those and would most likely culminate in more lean meat/mass on your body all over really.
Just take your time and be patient. IMO if you add to much weight to quickly you end up having to diet it off anyway.
Way to go...!

Great results but doing a mini cut and losing about 10 pounds (mostly water) can get your insulin sensitivity back up and can also ignite new muscle growth while keeping bodyfat lower. Also look into incorporating chemical1 or legendary from CHAOSANDPAIN!! Use code: skellie to save $$$..great products to gain good lean mass with minimal to zero side effects and legal!!!

If you're a rep (which I betting since you've been pumping CNP in almost every thread you're in) it needs to be in your sig. Also, he didn't ask about hormones

This is a vomit inducing post and very used car salesman of you. Not that I'd expect any more from C+P.

Hmmm, if Im following correctly....depends.

Lets say that eating, on average, 4000kcal per week (of a certain p:f:c composition) gets you to exactly 200lbs at 12% bodyfat. Assuming all else remains equal (tdee etc) then those variables will be your new set point. Its not like all of a sudden you hit 200lb and your muscles start burning extra energy, enabling you to recomp on the exact same kcal intake it took you to get where you are. Your body is compensating, adjusting, and establishing a "new" homeostatic environment the whole journey. And not necessarily in any linear fashion, as kisaj pointed out.

Something would have to change, be it overall kcal intake, macro ratios, tdee, etc if you were wanting to see body comp changes.

But, at the end of the day...who cares? What I mean is, why are you concerned about what kcal intake is going to be required for you to achieve a certain goal? Your body is gonna do what its gonna do; I suspect youre just going to have to modify as you go along and not expect your body to be obedient to any particular numbers you have in mind.

Thanks for your input ''Its not like all of a sudden you hit 200lb and your muscles start burning extra energy, enabling you to recomp on the exact same kcal intake it took you to get where you are.'' this was pretty close to what I was assuming may happen

I'm not a rep yet I just believe in the products and use them. I know he didn't ask about hormones but it would be a good aid that has minimal side effects. I also can show by my physique that the products do work and are backed by science.

Not sure how it's a vomit inducing post kisaj. I talked about nutrition and diet. Yea I made a supplement plug but I'm not a rep for chaos and pain yet. I just know that the products work and I have a masters in nutrition and science so I understand the products. My physique also speaks for my knowledge on diet, nutrition and supplementation. No need to attack and trol people. Thanks

Cool story bro. I could use my physique as an appeal to authority but I don't. All it means is that I stuck to a dieting strategy and cardio?

You've literally bumped 2yr old threads and have pimped CnP products every where. You're not a rep "yet" k.

My fault, I missed all the diet and nutrition information because of..well...No, I didn't miss anything other than a hyped plug for C+P.

Nah. Crudely speaking, each gram of muscle you grow will add to your overall caloric burden/requirements.
