BPS gets into an Anabolic State w/ X-Factor and Mass FX!

Unfortunately there was no workout yesterday as I ended up working a little at work and then I had to run off to drive out to a neighboring town for my team's hockey game (FYI...we won! 2-1-1 at the momen) and by the time I got home the gym was already closed. I mean really who closes a gym at 8pm on Friday. But now I'm in a little dilemma, I had won some tanning sessions from a radio competition, and now a lady at work wants to trade the sessions for a year membership at a local gym. The gym is way across the city, it's not a bad gym, not really great though, but the real problem is that we wouldn't be able to afford a membership for ~DD~ there. The second aspect of this dilemma is that the gym that I used to go to (decent gym, close to home) opend up again recently, under a new name, with a new owner, but still the exact same setup and equipment. I haven't went in there yet but I want to go find out how much $$$ a membership is.

I haven't decided what to do yet, but in the new year I get a taxable spending account the can be used for a gym membership if I want.

Cardio

45 minutes on the treadmill on a level 4 incline at 3.8 MPH

Energy Level: For the first time in awhile I can really say that it was sun-par....too much stressing about tests (my own) and ~DD~'s schooling (she's crazy swamped right now) as well as work (need a new job), etc. Plus the fact that I missed on 2 goals I had set for myself, the whole thing got me down a bit. 4/10

Workout Rating: B+, Surprisingly even though I was "down" and not very energetic, I had a decent workout, of course with endorphins rushing through my body I'm feeling a little bit better at the moment, we'll see if that last when I re-do pictures tomorrow morning.

Post-Workout Musings: I have to stop letting thing beyond my control affect me. Basically, I have to just refocus and re-evalute/re-set my short term goals (this is one of the systems I use to gauge progress and motivate myself). That being said, I still "made" myself have a good workout, and as long as I can keep doing that I'm sure things will fall into place.

Diet

1 - Morning Blender Shake (Yogurt, fruit, protein)

2 - 2 scoops protein w/ water

3 - Barley and rice soup - roughly a cup's worth

4 - Same as 2

WORKOUT

5 - 8oz Ground Beef Patty (1 egg and a bit of oatmeal tossed in with the beef to keep it all together), 1 and 1/2 cups of shredded broccolli salad.

Water intake: 4.5 litres today.

Shoulders, Abs and Cardio

Another full day in the library studying the nervous system, the spinal cord/spinal nerves and the brain. Interesting stuff, I just wish I could focus on that and not have to worry about work *OR* work in a field that involves such information. I'm really finding that I like insurance less now than when I started and I'm really becoming more interested in anatomy and physiology. I would really like to get more involved in this field, specifically in relation to sports, training and nutrition/supplementation. They say to be successful you have to do something you really enjoy and I think this area is where I want to be.

Overhead Press ss w/ Upright Row

10@135/10@135
10@155/10@155
10@135/10@135 - was quite upset at these, I just didn't have it today... :(

Bent Over Raise

Machine Shrugs - used a bench press machine because that's all I could get on.

Decline Bench Crunches ss w/ Frog Crunches

20 reps ss w/ 20 reps
20 reps ss w/ 20 reps
20 reps ss w/ 20 reps

Cardio

30 Minutes on the treadmill, level 4 incline at 3.9 MPH
15 Minutes on the reuncumbant bike, random hill setting at level 5.

Energy Level: Not too bad tonight I was actually excited to get into the gym after spending the whole day in the library (AGAIN!!!), even after having the first exercise not quite where I wanted it to be I still hand lots of energy to keep going (just not in that exercise) 7.7/10

Workout Rating: A, Ended up with a pretty good workout despite the above. Got a good pump in the shoulder's, a good burn in the Abs, and ripped off some solid cardio managing to get a pretty good sweat on.

Post-Workout Musings: I can't wait until this week is over! Not so much the week but I just want to get the upcoming tests over with so that I can ease off on the studying for a little while. It's becoming a full-time job (too bad I already have one). Maybe I'll take Friday off just to focus on the tests and get the last little bit of studying in. I have the holiday's still and I don't have anything else planned for them??

Diet

Oatmeal and 3 protein shakes today and then a protein pancake (homemade) after the workout, so not too much to say about the diet for today.

Supplements

Pre-Workout: 1 scoop Ragnarok with water
Intra-Workout: 3 scoops Xtend with water
Post-Workout: 1 scoop Protein (in the protein pancake)

Water intake: 6 litres

My team lost tonight so to punish myself for bad coaching I just finished an hour and 15 minutes cardio. No weights tonight...I also have practice tomorrow right after work so tomorrow night I'll be doing chest and bi's, thus saving the leg workout for Wednesday when I don't have to skate...

30 minutes on the treadmill, level 5 incline at 3.9 MPH
15 minutes on the reincumbant bike, random hills setting, level 5
30 minutes on the treadmill, level 5 incline at 3.8 MPH (I was getting tired)

3 scoops of watermelon Xtend in a 1.5 litre bottle kept me going for the length of it.

I also received another package today, and to my surprise it was my second order of Xtend (2 tubs of Lemon), along with some Dialene 4 samples. BB.com musta rushed that one cause it got here in a hurry! No X-Factor though...... :( .....It's going to be one helluva day when it gets here!!

jesus. someone get this man some xfactor lol

heh, heh..... I'm as confused as anyone.... I don't think even customs would've held something up this long. I'll have to contact jjohn when I have some free time but I'm at work now so it won't be until later.

john123131, have you received anything yet??

So I went to the gym tonight with full intentions of just doing cardio again as after hockey practice I was feeling extremely wiped out (I've been running around so much lately I don't think I've been getting enough actual rest). But when I got there it was like I was ready to have an anxiety attack about not touching the weights for two nights in a row.... So to make a long story short, I lifted a few weights before doing cardio (not what I'd call a full workout but just a few lifts).

Bench Press: 20@135, 20@185, 20@205, 20@225

DB 'down the rack' Curls: (10@45, 10@35, 10@25) x 2 sets, with 2 finishing sets of seated Incline db curls: 15@20, 15@20

30 minutes on the treadmill, level 4 incline, 3.9 MPH - stupid thing kept on shocking me, really pissed me off.

ThermoGenesis! They still makr these?? Haha I used to take a lot of this back in the day!

Yeah....there's a place around here that keeps bringing them in.....$55 a bottle though!?!?! They're pretty much sold out most of the time, the bottles go out the door as soon as they come in.

Just got back from the gym...and yes it's 11pm here. It was the only time I could fit it in after spending the rest of the day studying after work. Today was a leg day, but since it was really late I just wanted to get a really quick one off and then get some solid cardio in again.

Leg Extensions: 20@165, 20@180, 20@195, 20@205

Damn I used to get them for 35 lol. And they make tons of money on this.

I've seen them on ebay for $25-29, never been a fan of ordering supps off of ebay though.... I only use them occasionally anyway so it's not like I'm going broke buying only a couple bottles a year.

I buy tons of stuff on ebay. Works incredibly well!

Got the all-arm workout done, only spent about 30 minutes in the gym since I wanted to get home and do my tests, the gym was actually pretty busy for some reason....jeez...don't these people have anything better to do with their Friday nights :?: Here's how it went...

Tricep cable pressdowns ss w/ Single arm cable curls

That's it, as you can see I wasn't really into it as I was focusing so much on my upcoming tests. Not much else to say other than at least I don't have to study for a couple days (I can take a short break).

FYI...87% on the midterm and 100% on the lab test!

"Post-Tropical" Storm Noel.....

EDIT: Also, we did get hit by hurricane force winds (130+ KPH - leftovers from Hurricane Noel)...

There I fixed that comment. Power is knocked out in pockets all over the province, just so happens that my apartment is in one of those pockets and we've been told not to expect power to be back until Monday or Tuesday night. So at the moment I'm sitting at Starbucks logging in to check my emails and such. $13.99 for all-day long access, not too happy about that but there wasn't much else I could do, even the public library is "light's out!" I had went out earlier yesterday to get some 'emergency' groceries so that's a plus as right now we can't cook anything (and we can't afford to be eating out alot).

That being said I still got to the gym yesterday, I got in-and-out and beat the storm by a few hours. It was a back day.

Wide Grip Pullups: 10@BW, 10@BW, 10@BW
V-Grip Pulldowns: 12@225, 10@235, 10@235

35 Minutes on the treadmill, level 4 incline, 3.9 MPH - F'in machine was shocking me like crazy again - this absolutely drives me nuts!!! I remember at my old gym in Regina, this was happening and it was solely due to the machines just being worn-out and needing replacement, the owner didn't take action and they started losing members because of it. I mean when the freakin machine is "arcing" electricity to your arm when your arm comes close the the handles, there's something wrong. I have lodged my complaint with two of the employees there, but really don't expect too much to happen, at that school they don't really care too much about their weight room so they're definitely not going to be putting too much money towards it.

Big News!!!!

X-Factor was picked up last night.....first doses of X-Factor and Mass FX were taken this morning.....workout tonight, pics tonight, and measurements tonight......this log just got interesting again!!!

considering were in the same DAMN CITY...haha..im expecting mine today!!
If not, they are red flagging me cause I get too much sh*t sent to my place..lol

not too worried, half of my stuff i get from everyone is in a "delay"....borders suck

x 2 on the borders thing. Although most times I've ordered from across the border I've received my stuff in 10-14 days. This was by far the longest I've ever waited, but from what I'm hearing from others, it's becoming more common to wait longer periods (especially ordering into Canada) due to the current volume of orders coming across the borders (of all sorts of goods). But it's here now and I'm happy, can't wait to really get to the meat and bones of this log (roughly 7 - 10 days in I figure), there's been a couple numbers floating around my heading in relation to some barriers I've been struggling with for the last little while. If I can break through those, I will be calling this log a major success (although those will not be my only measures of success/failure). They are:

400+ for 5-10 reps on Bench Press
500+ for 5-10 reps on Deadlifts
500+ for 5-10 reps on Squats

Fyi...I finished coaching hockey practice not too long ago and I've been in the library since then but I'm just about ready to head on up the hill and blast away at these pecs....can't wait!!

Day 1

Welcome to the first day of the *ACTUAL* log, it's been a long time coming but it's finally here and I couldn't be happier, I'm very excited to be logging these 2 products and can't wait to see what effects they will have on me and my workouts. I was a little over-anxious with saying that I would have pics, measurements, etc up last night, since we didn't get out of the gym until 11pm ~DD~ was in no mood to participate. Hopefully I'll get those up before the weekedn... :)

Cardio

30 minutes on the treadmill, level 4 incline at 3.8 MPH (this was after already skating earlier on)

Energy Level: Energy was through the roof, I'm not sure if it was just finally starting the actual log or if it was due to the RPM and Drive samples I took pre-workout, but definitely a 9/10.

Workout Rating: A+ workout, the numbers weren't as high as I would like to see them so I made sure to tax the muscle fibers with volume instead (it's got to be one or the other) I was totall "feeling" it post workout...I can't wait for the strength increases to start setting in.

Post-Workout Musings: Can't really comment on how the products are working yet (I've only been using them for 1 day after all) I will note however that I'm damn sore today, so if X-Factor starts giving me some severe DOMS on top of what I already have I'm going to be in for some major pain....not that I'm complaining because I love that feeling!!!

Supplements - I'm dropping the meal, by meal, recount as it doesn't really change much, instead I think I'm going to start posting macro totals for each day.

Cardio

25 Minutes on the reincumbant bike, random hill setting at level 5.

Energy Level: Today was quite the crappy day overall, mostly because of some issues at work that're stressing me out at the moment. I even had to put some OT in tonight, I'll have to do some more tomorrow and then probably some more on the weekend as well. So needless to say the workday sucked my energy out of me, 6/10

Workout Rating: The squats were an A easily the rest of the workout was probably a B so I'll call it down the middle with a B+. I was happy with how the squats felt but everything after that was just average since I really had no energy left.

Post Workout Musings: All in all I'm happy with my workout, as long as the squats are feeling good I'm happy. I'm going to start ramping up my lifts after this week, that's where I'm really hoping to see the effects of the X-Factor and Mass FX. Can't say that I'm experiencing anything yet, I do have a general feeling of well-being but maybe that's just because I got this log started finally.

your a beast bro

I'm trying to be!!!

No workout last night, I ended up working more overtime and wasn't too energized to get to the gym afterwards, it's also ~DD~'s birthday on Sunday, but since that's Remembrance Day we decided to go out and catch a late night birthday meal. She's tied up with school all weekend so we didn't even have any drinks as we couldn't afford to have the accompanying hang-overs (when you only drink a couple times a year, the hang-over is almost guaranteed). We'll be getting into the gym sometime this afternoon after ~DD~ is done meeting with her group. In honor of her birthday weekend I post pics.

Naw....we're still at MSVU, she's taking the Dietetics program here, might end up going back out to Bayer's Lake and Fitness Cit....err....I mean East Coast Fitness. I was told that the owners are one of the trainers who was working there before and the guys who owned the supplement shop in Fitness City when it was out in Lakeside. I know the trainer pretty good but don't know the other guys...I went in to price out memberships and they're pretty decent, probably wait until I get my TSA though. :afro:
