BP medications choice

I have access to several presrciption blood pressure meds for use while on cycle.

Anybody have any idea which work best for the body builder???

I am ending a 12 weeker and BP up to as much as 155/91. I am taking Hawthorne berry but doesn't seem to help. Added some
novla and A-dex too. Not much of a change.

I am running test cyp, EQ, and sus for a total of 950mg injectable per week and 10-30mg of D-ball on weeks 1-6.

Please include generic names if you know.

Thanks to all and Merry CHRISTmas.

Thanks Size. I just ordered some "Blood Pressure Control" by Twinlab after reading some posts.
I prefer to use natural remedies if they work comparable to prescription drugs.
Syntetic drugs while fixing one thing, always damage another or two :)
My two cents :)

Unless you have a vast knowledge of calcium channel blockers and such and what they do, you may be playing with fire with the dosages. Stick to natural remedies.

I read somewhere that you want the extract, not the whole berries.

I dont know if this will help because you said nolva didnt do anything but maybe an anti aromatase to cut down the estrogen, which causes high bp. Do some more cardio too. omega 3s and a clean diet will help too.

Clonidine HCl (Catapres) 0.3-0.9mg/d
real good stuff, a better option than other Rx's for BB'ing

Try this one.

When i cycle, 1.5 gs of test, 800mg of EQ and 600mg of tren a week my pressure was at 190 over 110. I went to the doc, changed my diet to super clean eating and he put me on MONOPRIL. 40mg a day. My pressure is now 128/88 and they dont call me redman anymore. I did not get any sides from the monopril. The DR told me he likes to use this drug with young men, [im 40] because it does not affect your sex life negatively like some of the other BP meds due. Just ask my wife, i chase her ass around the house every chance i get.

Like mentioned above Capoten is very similar and works in the same way. A young mans drug. You have to take Capoten up to three times a day though were monopril is 1 a day but Capoten works in the same way , good stuff

what about HCTZ Dr?

Hey Matt,
HCT is good stuff. Monopril makes a combo pill too w/ HCT in it which is a good idea especially when estrogen is elevated. ACE inhibitors increase renin activity, due to loss of plasma volume. Aldosterone secretion is enhanced and potassium is lost, so an enzyme inhibitor like fosinopril tends to reduce the loss of potassium caused by this type of diuretic.

I just like a catapres/lasix combo myself, because it's more versatile if your just in need of situational therapy.

The one I was taking was a combo pill HCTZ and Enapril but now I am only taking Enapril.. and I hope that I will be able to get off that sometime in the future.. like next year.. I hate taking the damn things..

I've heard some good things about Capoten, any ideas on that?

It's a bit of a loner, but it's another ACE inhib. I don't know, but it looks good on paper

I know exactly what you're saying. I take 20meq potassium everday and drink water like a fish, that's usually it. I use 40 when on and lasix PRN

I read on iron addicts board that calcium/magnesium/potasium 3x a day will help lower it as well

Calcium is bad, especially if yourr using a calcium channel blocker. It is well understood that an increase in Ca++ concentration causes a direct inotropic response. This results in contraction of all muscles by disrupting actin-myosin binding.

Botton line: Avoid Ca and Na, and increase K and Mg intake. Don't even get me started on the benefits of Mg, and K reiforces diuresis and is a direct cardiac depressant. I suggest using them both daily (I do and have been for years, no prob)
