Unanswered Boswellia, COX-2, and Muscle Growth

Can Boswellia inhibit muscle growth? Ive read that it’s a cox-2 inhibitor, and that cox-2 inhibitors can inhibit skeletal muscle hypertrophy in mice. Granted, we’re not mice, but research has to start somewhere. Anyone have any thoughts?

In general, anti inflammatories should be avoided around training. I’d personally utilize it away from training and not sweat it

I think its not enough clinically make a difference.

Exactly just take it away from training. I always take my SNS Joint Support XT first thing in the AM

As I recall, COX-2 inhibits release of inflammatory cytokines, like the ones people try to boost by taking arachidonic acid supplements. So, yeah, in theory it would reduce training adaptations, and definitely don’t dose it alongside your X-Gels, but I doubt most people would see much difference in the real world. As others said, I would take it away from your training time.
