You should drive a BMW because your enjoy what can best be described as an amazing driving experience. Engineering that is designed to provide an accurate balance of performance and luxury. Driving it because it proves you don't live in your moms basement, should be the last reason why you buy a BMW.

Oh I know hehe , inside joke actually couldn't resist it. I drive my E46 because I love it beyond compare, my dad first taught me how to drive in a 2002 330i E46 and I had the sentimental value for it hahaha. Along the way I had some others , one got stolen at gun point, other totaled and just decided to simply buy again the E46 2002 but for the love of it, the fact I got a genius to set it up with an m3 engine and make it work is purely incidental hahaha.
 
BMW 7 series is super comfortable especially is someone else is driving. Those back massage seats are so nice. Good power and like driving an old whale caddy or Lincoln back in the day. I did like the guy on the first page suggest an RS5, very nice. I have a S4 but dream would be RS4 Audi. Caddy CTS V is a close second.

Oh wait the Lexus IS F makes me drool; I'd rather have that.
 
i'd rather drive in luxury and safety than something with a million horsepower......i'd rather sit in comfort and style as i'm driving...instead of something that can go to 0-60 in 2.2 seconds when in reality you can't drive that fast anyway....AWD is important for me as well in the northeast

That's the arrogance I would expect from a european car buff....no one said I couldn't afford out....i own 5 cars....they are just more fun and you can actually work on them....typical.....most of you cant change your own oil

I agree about the arrogance in his statement talking about finesse. Man I just want to go fast, American or European. As you can see by my avitar, my first car, I love American muscle but had always wanted an Audi. Having a v8 with AWD in an accord size car is so freakin fun but man I would love to have a new CTS V caddy to light those tires. Many of the European cars being described I know I will probably never own, based on being several hundred thousand dollars and may never drive but I'm still going to go fast in something... Bet your ass on that!!
 
Yeah a good thing about most of you guys is you see what suits you. Some people have families or long drives or certain jobs/climate where I can totally see where a luxury car is applicable. Then for a hobby/fun/toy/weekend (& some people do go to the track) I can see the need for more muscular fun cars. Bottom line there is always 1 or guys out there that just don't get it, & always will talk about something they no nothing about and ad time changes be in the same position talking the same non sense. :P

Ya man.....Someday it WILL be a ferrari....but I will always have a classic American Muscle Car in the garage for neck snapping torque and nasty exhaust notes.....

Then get an all wheel drive luxury car that is also really fast.

Not luxury, but a GTR is all wheel drive, comfortable, and with a couple thousand invested will put you at exotic levels of performance. For many, many, many thousands, you can be in an 8 second street car.

Unfortunately, market value on them is still north of 80k

Numerous early modified cars hitting 10s and lower.

AMS's Alpha 12 makes it an 8 second street legal car. Granted, that is probably a 100k package, lol, no price listed.

For a true speed nut, there isn't going to be anything close to it's benefits/cost, imo.

Grandfather gave me his 1966 mustang (which he bought original in '65) so I am saving up money to repair the transmisson. It'll dog that BMW or Caddy you want! :006:

this is what I'm leaning towards a nice mesh of speed,comfort and luxury.was looking at the new scion frs but might wait till next year when I don't have to hunt down the color I want
 
saw they had a super car you could build yourself for 50,000. so far it looks like bmw is in the lead.the m3,m5 do look very good.

The scion-frs is suppose to be the modern supra right? I think there is a Subaru (brz) that is pretty much the same thing

i'm 5'5 and cringe at the brz...i saw one the other day...that thing just looks painful to get in and out of....my knees just hurt thinking about it

Yeah, the return of the true sports car from Japan, we shall see how it pans out. The standard models are a bit power light, but apparently handle fairly well and are fun to drive. I think the STI-BRZ would be a fun car. The subby and scion are the same cars.


Also shocked no one mentioned any mercedes yet, unless I missed it. A bit more than the M3, but one might enjoy an E55 AMG as well.
 
Love my MKZ but my dream car is the ctsv. Love Lincoln cars especially for daily drivers they just do thane the HP to be a dream car.
 
I'll just say this, it amazes me how ignorant some dudes are when it comes to cars on here. Second caddies have prob the worst resell value of any car brand out there while BMWs hold their value pretty well. If you can find a used caddy you like you could get a real good deal. Personally I'd go for a used m3.

looked at a few mercedes just didn't like the front ends and the lack of styling on most of them but haven't really given them a fair shake

48K is low mileage for a 2005 and probably has been taken care of, $23K-24K. Is it convertible? Color and does it have SMG?

I think you have ignorant confused with difference of opinion. I personally don't like anything about a BMW, I hear civics hold their value well, but I hated my Acura so I stay away from Honda.

Resale is great, not as great as loving the car your stuck with for few years.

Even if I was filthy rich I would still drive myself unless I was out partying.....I love to drive nice cars.....I only trust myself to drive a car like its meant to be driven.....fast

yeah that seems to be the overall thought process.....see i hate driving and wish i never had to do, i also don't really care about fast cars...because you have to go the speed limits anyway, so a car that goes 0-60 in 2 seconds or runs a half mile in 8 seconds or whatever doesn't do it for me....i'd rather ride in comfort and safety

It is an enthusiast thing. I wouldn't suggest an m3 to you, just as I wouldn't suggest superdrol to a jogger, different strokes.

Speed wise, It is hard to say you can never use it. I have been in multiple 130+mph highway runs (granted within safe reason, no traffic). Grown a bit since then, but fun is still to be had on the street, and real fun at a track.

i like m3's....they are a bit different though, my experience with m3's is that they don't seem to be as low or crammed as what the brz seemed to be and are still a nice looking car....but i'd never buy a corvette or anything, just not my thing...plus the weather and roads in PA don't give someone with a corvette much time ot drive their vehicle all that much
