BMP Beta Testing

I have a bag of brown BMP goodness in my supp cabinet right now.

Wont be a daily log but I will try to post my observations as they come.

Thanks Matt for the opportunity!

The powder doesn't taste bad at all. I am dosing using a multiple servings of 1/8 tsp and just throwing it back, reminds me of green tea powder.

Anyway, I have been using BMP with nothing else but my staple supps for ! 1 week. Just to note, for half the week I was using the BMP at 1/2 the normal dose due to me overestimating the MG size of a 1/8 tsp dose.

Observations:

Strength: I have added 10-20 pounds on all my major lifts. I do a push pull split and try to stay to compounds (Bench/Squat/OH Press push and DL/Row?pull ups Pull) I have been plateau for about 2 weeks so this was a great bonus.

Endurance: I have done my push/pull split for 6 days in a row and my only issue is tendon pain. I have not had any loss in strength and have actually gained reps/weight on lifts after several consecutive days of lifting. I normally take a day off every 3rd day but I haven't felt the need for it at all lately until today when my elbows were killing me. Probably not enough rest and added weight/volume.

Pump: Pump is on par with some pre workouts I have tried in the past. I work out on post during lunch and have to change into shirt/tie afterward and notice the pump lasts the rest of the day.

Libido: No change. Still insatiable as normal.

Overall it was a good 1st week. I wil be VERY interested if these strength gains keep coming.

Strength gains that big and rapid sound awesome...I am starting my log next week, you have me excited to start. Good luck with the log, I will be following.

20lbs first week is very impressive.

Any increase of temp?

Now that you mention it I have felt a little hot all week but it could be stress / BP... Its been the end of the fiscal year for the Government so I have been working ~20 hours OT a week. Looking forward to this week now that my OT will be over with and I can focus more on lifting heavier & eating leaner. I have a 3 day road trip planned in 2 weeks so I want to hit it hard and see some progress so I can take a few days off and not feel guilty!

Can you expand a little bit on this?

"Endurance: I have done my push/pull split for 6 days in a row and my only issue is tendon pain."

Yesterday I did my push routine which is Squats, Bench Press and OH Press. By the time I got through with BP and went into OH press my elbows were killing me. I still killed BP with an unassisted 4 rep PR, but moving to OH Press I had to back off after my 3rd set. My elbows were aching, seems more like a tendon pain rather than joint pain but Him not 100% sure. Also, this is just elbows, no knee pain or shoulder pain so far.

Again, I haven't had an off day in a week and I am pushing more weight on all my lifts than ever before so I am assuming that is the issue. I am taking Saturday and Sunday off and will report back after my workout on Monday.

cool...I'll hold off sharing more until more logs come though.

Enjoy those off days!!

If it's what I predict, it will stop being an issue by next week. Let me know.

SO far this week:

Lifted M-Push/Heavy T-Pull/Heavy W-Push/Med Th-Pull/Med

I backed off of any direct arm work due to the tendon pain i was experiencing. It seems to have gone away in the right elbow but is still slightly there in the left. The pain or "annoyance" I am feeling now is more akin to what normal tendonitis feels like. My report from last week was the most intense I have felt it before, but that went away after a few days.

I have developed some kind of issue or injury to what seems to be my sacroiliac joint area. I backed off on weight wed and today due to this, however it did not hinder me from performing at 100% on Monday and Tuesday. Ive been getting it worked on by my LMT (wife) the past 2 nights and going to get adjusted Friday.

Observations:

Strength: No change. Considering the SI pain I've had all week this isn't a bad report.

Endurance: The recovery is the biggest thing I have noticed thus far. I am not getting as much DOMS as normal nor am I losing strength as my workout proceeds. With enough rest in between exercises it seems my strength seems to stay steady.

Pump: Pump is still good, even with a few sub maximal workouts this week.

Libido: No change.

To anyone wondering the powder really doesn't taste bad at all. there is no point in trying to mix it with a liquid though it as it is easy enough to toss back with a spoon.

Overall NSTR; other than I am able to get in there and get it done even though I am feeling a bit beaten up. Will update soon.

update:

I am not getting the "euphoric" feeling after dosing at all. The only "feeling" I have gotten is a slight feeling similar to a drop in blood sugar (like taking a GDA pre workout without food). The feeling goes away as soon as I start to lift.

I backed off of weight ~15% on any hip dominant lifts due to my SI joint issue. Focusing mostly on form and maximum glute activation as it appears it was caused by my hip flexors being activated too much on squat/DL (higher weight and bad form on my part). on aside note I got a TENS unit and it seems to be helping with my elbow tendonitis (and my SI joint pain).

The biggest thing I am noticing seems like muscular endurance. I feel just as strong at the end of my workout as I did at the beginning. At this point I am also experiencing zero DOMS whatsoever. Matt has been pretty tight lipped on what to expect but this is definately the biggest thing I have seen so far.

I've been doing the same thing with my Glute activation on the squat machine. It's the only way I can actually get the movement down without causing my lower back to flare up.

Yeah its alot of lower back pain on the right hip area and corresponding hip flexor tightness in the fron groin area.

I also started a glute activation warm up consisting of:

Glute Bridge - 10x (both legs)
Single Leg Glute Bridge - 10x each leg
Quadruped bent-knee hip extension - 10x each leg

It has only been 2 workouts so far but doing the above warm up and then focusing on the squeeze and making sure i fully lock out at the top when DL/squat and my lower back isn't hurting anywhere near as much the past 2 days.

Got back from a the trip i went on a few days ago. No gym while I was gone and lots of going out/drinking etc. My daughter has been sick since Sunday so I have been running off of ~ 3 hours sleep a night since I got back but my endurance hasn't been affected like I epected it to be.

Observations:

Strength: No change. I hit a 1 rep PR on my DL yesterday and maybe an extra rep on my 5RM bench but nothing huge like the first week and a half.

Endurance: Endurance in the gym and recovery are great. I have about an hour a day during the week at the gym available and it just doesnt seem like I am getting worn out. I am going to try to go in this weekend while I am off and go at it until I am done to see how hard I can push this feeling. Still not getting much of any DOMS other maybe an hour or so the next morning (if at all).

Pump: Pump is still good even with low volume workouts.

Libido: No change.

Overall nothing huge to report. I have no idea what to be on the look out for results wise, but I would say this would probably be a great product for people that trained higher volume.

Final review:

I haven't been able to make regular updates due to being busy at work and with family however I wrapped up my BMP last week on Thursday. I was using the recommended dosing of 2G per day pre workout. I have been at a caloric deficit throughout the month other than a few days here and there and on my trip.

Strength: During this month I have set PR on 4 of my core lifts - 20 on DL, 15 Squat and 10 on BP. 10 on OHP. These are not huge numbers by any means, and I was due for some progress... however I hit a plateau at least the month prior so I will take it! All of my prior 1RM I can now push for 3-5 reps.easily.

Endurance & Recovery: This is where I saw the biggest effect. I generally train low volume and try to work each muscle group 2-3 times per week. BMP enabled me to increase volume of sets performed per workout with no recovery issues whatsoever.

Other effects: Muscle fullness / Pump for a few hours after a workout.

Overall it seems like a great product and I would be interested to see if the effects compounded over time and/or if some effects may take a longer period of use to actually see (browning of fat etc.)

Post review Update:

Definately added another 7.5 pounds to DL 1RM on the first workout post BMP. No other lifts have gone up but this one did! We will see if it sticks over the next few weeks.

Excellent review, thanks!
