so I guess people are smoking blue lotus now (for me in the USA, this is the first i've heard of it). I heard about someone getting a bad reaction to joint, so I thought I'd look into it a bit.

first off, I guess theres two blue lotuses

the one this is about is the Egyptian lotus Nymphaea caerulea. Concern #1 did you get the right blue lotus?

The only USA state to ban it is to be Louisiana afaik

Per wikipedia, it's illegal in Latvia and Poland too.

this blue lotus is supposed to have two psychoactive components: Apomorphine and Nuciferine

What I find really weird is that it seems like it's not recommended to ingest? considered poisonous maybe? I couldn't find it in any poisonous plant database though. I thought if it's not safe to eat, its not safe to smoke?

So, thoughts?

not sure. the joint I heard about was a preroll with weed being sold "legally"

which I don't think is actually legal yet but there's some kind of weird non-enforcement going on right now.

when I look it up on Amazon, seems like not many products are available.
 
I drink blue lotus tea that gets steeped for over 24 hours. It’s on the bitter side, but I enjoy the taste. It is mildly relaxing and promotes lucid dreaming. I drink it alongside my kratom tea as it seems to potentiate kratom a little bit.
 
It's been selling at head shops here for some time now, generally the same places that sell kratom. They only sell it in capsule or tablet form because it apparently is supposed to be ingested the same as kratom. When I was on a kratom kick, I recall seeing comparisons being made with regard to dopamine release, but the feedback was that kratom was far stronger- albeit also far more difficult to avoid WD.
 
I was trying to figure out how Egyptians used it. which we really won't know for sure. reading this makes me think it was steeped in alcohol and also possibly used with transdermal oils. also possibly using water from a lake that had them

Mood and mind sells it as an extract powder, capsules, stamens and flowers. They also sell it combined with kratom, lemonade and hot chocolate. Honestly, I never noticed much from it.
 
I settled on buying some steam distilled blue lotus oil. I'll probably try a drop under the tongue.

Most pre-rolls you see being sold 'legally' are just filled up with really cheap hemp trim, and then they're being sprayed with various forms of distillates like Delta 8-THC, THC-O, HHC, ect. In most States, it is perfectly legal, as long as everything is 'hemp derived' and has less than .3% THC by weight.

what's going on here in Virginia is possession is legal but not selling. so real weed is being given complimentary with the purchase of a $200 sticker for example. you can get California stuff with thc in milligrams and everything

Theres all sorts of fun skirting of the laws.... hell, here in CT we're currently in the phase of abusing 'gifting' laws. It's perfectly legal to give someone weed now, but obviously it can't be sold. So there are seshes popping up where vendors come, and they 'gift' you products, and you simply make a 'thank you donation'. 90% of the products are coming from Maine dispos.

I appreciate it, stuff is a hell of a lot better than anything I could get from a CT dispo with my med card lol

ya I'm pretty sure that's exactly what's happening here. I do have a store tho.
 
If you’re used to anything potent, this isn’t going to do anything at any dose, extraction, or application method. There might be a bit of placebo but nothing else. I’ve worked with it for years and it just doesn’t do anything. The Egyptians were drunk on wine, not this.

what do you mean do anything? it sounds to me like it will slow racing thoughts and promote vivid dreams.
 
It's been around online for at least 20+ years to my knowledge. Very mild effects when I picked it in my local shamans garden. If you are a regular kratom or something with stronger effects you may not even notice. I would put it on the level with average quality KAVA.
 
sorry guys I did the try it because I forgot I had to work a few hours at 2am. won't be doing it tonight either. maybe tomorrow night. I'll report back when I do

I'm really mostly interested in the dream enhancment. not sure why everyone thinks I'm some kratom junkie. I've never tried kratom

I never said word one about YOU and kratom. I was simply using another commonly used herbal in the relaxation/buzz category. I make no assumptions about you.
