Bioavailable T calculator

OK I plugged in my numbers into this, and the calculator said:

Bioavail T = 180ng/dL
Free = 6.06 ng/dL

???

my labs for B.A = 93.9ng/dl (range 110-575)
My labs for Free = 37.7pg/nL (range 46-224)

TotalTestosterone xxx(units)
Albumin xxx(units)
SHBG xxx(units)

The formula could be used as last resort help,
best, go to Quest and ask for
(Free BioAvailable and Total Testosterone)

Yes I was able to reproduce your numbers using the calculator.

TotalT.....434 ng/dL (ref range 250-1100)
SHBG ..... 51 nmol/L (ref range 15-49) (HIGH, get the LEF stuff or Chrysin cream, as much as you can)
Albunim,Serum .....5.5 g/dL (ref range 3.6-5.1)
Free Testosterone =6.06 ng/dL = 1.40 %=60.6pg/dL
Bioavailable Testosterone=180 ng/dL = 41.5 %
=================================
But QuestDiagnostic calculated:

FreeT .....37.7 pg/mL (ref range 46.0-224.0)
BioAvail T..... 93.9 ng/dL (ref range 110-575)

Quest/Calculator=180/93.9=1.917
=================================
Now, recal people complaining of huge error in this 1990 science level, basic calculator. They claim that the old knowledge assumes singular SHBG molecule while it is "dual".

I am assuming that Quest knows what they are doing.
Until further information is available, I am assuming that the unforunate people who are not able to use Quest Diagnostic service, are just plain unfortunate.

Ok, I have my blood work in front of me, let see what happen.
Testosterone, Free, Bio/Tot
Testosterone Total 456 ng/dL (250-1100)
Testosterone Free 91 pg/mL (46.0-224.0)
Testosterone Bioavailable 179 ng/dL (110.0-575.0)
SHBG 20 nmol/L (23-38)
Albumin, serum 4.3 g/dL (3.6-5.1)

From calculator I get
Free Testosterone=12.2 ng/dL = 2.68 %=122pg/dL
Bioavailable Testosterone=286 ng/dL = 62.7 %


Quest/Calculator=179/286=0.63
========================================
We could use more real life examples,
but for now, I would say the more SHBG one have the bigger the error.

All above assumes that your nombers are from Quest.

I suggest that few more people with Quest BAT blood analysis post their results.
I would calculate the spread and possibly we could figure out some reasonable correction factor.
 
I have my own BioAvailable T calculator, its called the "Wood-Ometer", much more exact science on how I feel. I test it every morning and night, and its a free test as well. :drunk:

I think wood is more function of E2 than T levels.
I think of proper T levels as overal chance at better health, not specifically ED solver. Mainly
depression
bone, muscles.

Yep I have been saying this for yrs. Want to know how your TRT and E2 are going check your wood.
