BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER: Snag's Recipe for a [NATURAL] Recomp, Competition Style!

Mmmm.. just busted out a mug of green tea. I drink a lot of this during cutting season, but this is the first I've had for awhile. Was just taking inventory to see how much I had on hand, and a it just sounded good. When hardcore cutting time rolls around, I'll have 3 cups of this daily..
Got a few tricks up my sleeve as we go -- can't show 'em all up front tho! You guys will lose interest.. you'll just have to hang around I guess.

I love green tea, but recently ive been converted by the wife to white tea, as its even more potent, as its not processed at all, nice fresh taste too.

I've got some white tea, black tea, green tea.. I don't discriminate! :D

White tea more metabolism-beneficial than green tea eh? Never heard of this.. see, look at this education you bring to the table Russian, nice!

Yes apparently so, its richer in antioxidants, and supposedly even more thermogenic, i have two cups for breakfast and 2 before bed, actualy i sleep great everytime i drink itr before bed, i might try and research that.
Lol, dont discriminate tea, just never drink tea with cereal, as it renders the folic acid and the godness in cereal useless, as the tannins in teas stop your body utilising the beneficial parts of cereal, namely the vitamins and minerals.
Glad to offer something usefull, makes a change for me.

Will you bless my log with your presence i need your help to bro, especialy with my training.
Thanks Russian

Haha, I'll be right over bro! Just gotta have the 4th meal of the day.. in keeping with the liquidity of the day:

1/2 cup ff cottage cheese
2 scoops MRI ProNOS
mixed with h2o in a shaker.

Meal 6 will be similar: 1/2 cup ff cottage cheese, 1 scoop Ultra Size, 1 scoop NitroCore24.

In between - haven't decided fully yet, but I'm thinking an 8-10oz. tuna steak, 2 cups stir-fry broccoli veggies, 1/2 cup brown rice, and a salad w/ cherry tomatoes and a splurge on the dressing - Marzetti's Honey Mustard (usually I'll use a balsamic & olive oil vinaigrette mix). I've got a hankering for Honey Dijon tonight.. (I'm outta control, I know, haha).

First food pic of the thread.. and one most you guys have already seen. This is a very common meal for me tho; if I have use of my cooking facilities, I'll eat this meal once a day:
8 egg whiltes
2 whole eggs
2 peices Ezekiel 4:9 flourless bread (toasted crisp, plain)
This meal always follows a hi-carb meal in the daily format (for example, today it followed my MRI Quick Gainer shake, 4 scoops worth, which was 690 cals, 93g of carbs), usually 2 hours following aforementioned meal.
I love Ezekiel's sprouted grain bread, good stuff bro, eating clean

.. I envy the hell outta you, man ! The Pro-NOS is the best tasting protein I've ever had. My brother's got a vanilla cram Pro-NOS jug standing in my bed room here, and I got to admit I sneak a scoop in every random evening with 6-8 oz. of ice cold milk. Holy $hit, it's like an orgy in my mouth every time !

what type of training style do you use to get ready for comps?

Balls-to-the-wall psychotic madness!

Higher rep ranges (but still lifting fairly heavy), combined with increasingly lowered rest times; evolving into super/tri/double-double sets..

It'll all be laid out as I go thru each day.

 Classic! Dude, it is some pretty good stuff, most definitely among the tastiest I've ever had. I was glad to be able to get those box sets! Still, psychologically it's kinda depressing -- those little 1lb. bags disappear <POOF!>, just like that.. :(

Hahaha, with 6 servings/pound, go figure ..

.. seriously, though, I suggest you check out GNC at the beginning of each month, and check the box/container of the Pro-NOS for expiration date. My brother picked up this Vanilla Cream jug for $15-20 for a 2.5 lbs'er. The 16 serving jug .. GNC reduced the price by up to 75% off when the products expire in 2-3 months ..

I'm all over this one already bro -- I work part-time for a friend at a local GNC, couple hrs. 2 days/week, hence my 'employee-discount'.. then I've got 2 other buds who run their own local supp shops, and what I can't get thru GNC, I get thru these guys. Yeah, I know all the expiration dates on those type of products brother! ;) Always on the lookout..

Hahaha, I'm a menace to local GNC stores. I never walk in with the intention of buying a certain product; $hit, that's done online .. GNC is merely a drop-by place to find bargains !

.. you're a wise-wise man, Sam !

All right.. didn't get my grill going in time, so I have to slum tonight and just throw some albacore tuna in my stir fry (made with EVOO, and topped with 1/2 TBS Udo's Oil)..
and I'll add a couple egg whites as well..

Still tasty, but not as tasty as that tuna steak looks sitting in my fridge! :food:

So today the macros will be @3k cals, roughly 300/300/60. And yes, I count my pre/post supps such as Plasmavol & Anabolic Switch in the total caloric/carb equation. No, I do not count BCAA or any amino intake towards cals or protein calculations. My fat intake will remain pretty static here in the early going, I'll just be changing protein & carbs around for awhile. There will come a time tho when I skew the fats -- break out some heavy whipping cream, and my old Beverly-dieting philosophy..

It's so cool to have all these weapons at my disposal, AP & Pslin & the like -- much like the simple changing of weight routines can do wonders for one, so can dietary manipulation!

That tuna dinner looks pretty damn delicious ! And the salad with tomatoes .. just tops it off ! How about that dressing, bro !? Where's it at ?! You hiding something, for sure .. lol

It's there bro, that yellow-looking stuff lying on top, Honey Dijon by Marzetti's (only 1 TBS tho.. :()

Stuff's da bomb!

I gotta check this sh*t out Viking... too expensive to keep on hand perpetually?

You just pop into GNC and ask them for expired products? I gotta look into that...

By the way... anyone else psyched that AM fixed that damn NutraPlanet add in the top right of the screen? Every time I tried to navigate with the "quicklinks" the last couple of days, "Subscribed Threads" was hidden behind the NP add - really hindered my AM efficiency.

I'm jumping on that myself T!

Welll, not expired products bro, they can't sell those. But they should have a clearance section; some just have their clearance stuff mixed in with the regular products, so you gotta look for that dreaded 'red tag' (and just hope that the particular store you're at didn't go red tag crazy putting sale prices all over, take ya forever to find the true deals, haha).

Well .. ~$2.30 each serving if buying it at the b0dybuilding.c0m website .. 19 servings for $43.99. I'm not saying it's too expensive for everyone, but I haven't had the economy to use a $2+/serving protein product since .. I can remember !

I have about 3 GNC's within walking distance from my crib here... The one store - I HATE the employees, but I'll check out the other two - maybe even tomorrow!!

Gold card still good on clearance products?

That's a little rediculous. I'd rather spend that on some Chef Jay's bars... no milk required.

Good tasting protein is a plus - does the ProNOS effect your training / body in a more favorable way than say ON Whey or Muscle Milk?

Yeah, I've got one of those GNC's in my area; 'we do not mark down, period .. ' Normally, these are privately owned businesses ..

.. many GNC stores have a shelf or five with an assortment of marked down products. It varies from vitamins to herbs to protein powders to anything else .. And also, check out EAS Myoplex boxes with RTD and individual servings .. These are damn expensive at GNC, so odds are that their stock has been there a while, and these are often discounted to $1-1.50/serving -> $18.99-26.99 each 18 serving pack .. Just an example ..

I have not been able to try it on a continuous basis .. But in all fairness, I believe in MRI products, and I feel certain saying it's a solid product. I wish I had me 3-4 jugs in stock so that I could give it a 4-6 week run .. with no other protein powder sources than this, and with 2 servings religiously each day.

And the Chef Jay bars; I LOVE THESE ! They're the only bars I eat without feeling guilty .. and without fearing the sugars .. ADD Designer Whey's DeTour Oatmeal bars to it; 460 calories/bar; 12 g fat (5 saturated); 58 grams carbs (10 g sugar, 8 g fiber) and 30 grams protein.

Understood.

Also - if the store doesn't mark down clearance items, there are enough GNC's in the city that I'll find the one that DOES and ONLY go to that one... Even if it is the one I hate with the busted fat chick 'manager'.

I owe the Chef Jay's entirely to Snag. He suggested it a few months ago - and now I always keep a box on hand in the apartment. I'm sure I can find them cheaper online (I will look) - but I'm more than happy to pay $27 at VS for a box of 12. Their cookies are also really tasty, just not a good profile for a meal replacement obviously. You really can't tell that its not a full scale fatso bakery cookie (I tried white choc macadamia).

I'd opine that ProNOS is one of the best MRP protein's out there. According to the company:

Build Muscle, Lose Fat, Increase Nitric Oxide All At Once!
The biggest breakthrough in protein in 2 decades. First came whey. Then whey isolates. Now you have isolate “Fractions!” Fractions are tiny segments of isolates (1 part in 2,000). The Actinos fraction of Pro-NOS increases nitric oxide. The VAT-Burn fraction burns off fat. And they both supply you the aminos to build muscle faster than ever before!

Build More Muscle - Faster
Your muscle growth depends on two factors: 1) how many aminos you can deliver to your muscle cell and, 2) how long you can keep the process of constructing new muscle (protein syntheses) cranking. With Pro-NOS, you do both - at the same time! You see the whey fractions you find in Pro-NOS not only provide your body with the best muscle-building amino acids you can find, but they also increase nitric oxide giving you greater - and more sustained - amino delivery. That’s why with Pro-NOS you build more muscle - faster!

Increase Nitric Oxide
Now you can boost your nitric oxide levels - without taking extra arginine! That’s with whey and only whey. You see, the Actinos fraction of Pro-NOS increases NOS enzymes that make nitric oxide out of arginine!

Strip Off Belly Fat
Now you can get more muscle definition without changing your diet or exercise. How? The VAT-Burn fraction of Pro-NOS specifically targets hard-to-lose belly fat! What’s more Vat-BURN burns off total body fat.

Multi-Fractioned Whey Isolate Complex
Get Huge - Increases Mass-Building Amino Delivery
Get Pumped - Amplifies Nitric Oxide Levels
Get Ripped - Burns Fat
42 Grams of Protein Per Serving
From the creators of NO2 & CE2!
Contains:
ACTINOS™
NO Amplifying Whey Isolate
VAT-Burn™ Fat Reducing Whey Isolate
Ed Byrd's Revolutionary New Whey!
The Physique-Altering Power of Peptide "Multionarion"
Pro-Nos is the biggest breakthrough in protein supplementation in over 20 years. It gives you the power to gain muscle and burn off fat faster than ever before. Without added ingredients. Just protein. Here's how:

What Makes Pro-NOS Different?
The stunning new technology is known as peptide "multi-fractionation." Unlike today's whey proteins that use peptide chains in their "randomly occurring" length, MRI has isolated the specific "interval" (length) within the peptide chains that holds all the concentrated power to change your body composition! You get two powerful physique-altering chain-length specific peptides in new Pro-NOS: ACTINOS™ increases nitric oxide. VAT-Burn™ strips of belly fat.

Build Muscle and Burn Off Fat - At the Same Time - With Fractionated Whey!
Chest. Arms. Abs. With Pro-NOS, you get it all. The patent-pending NO-generating whey peptide fraction (ACTINOS™) amplifies nitric oxide levels. Without arginine or "added ingredients." Just fractionated whey protein. Your muscles feel bigger and thicker within days. At the same time, the whey peptide fraction that breaks down fat (VAT-Burn™) begins chiseling and sculpting your abs like never before.

Pro-NOS Is Ideal To Take With All NO-Generators!
Pro-NOS is designed to work synergistically with all nitric oxide products. You see, NO generators provide your body with arginine - the building block of NO. Pro-NOS makes sure you've got enough NOS enzymes. But it's the NOS enzymes that convert the arginine into nitric oxide. Finally, NOS is no-longer the rate-limiting factor in NO production! With Pro-NOS, you get 42 grams of the highest quality whey isolates and concentrate! And it tastes great!

It Takes 2,000 lbs of Whey to Make 1 Pro-NOS Jug

See the long whey isolate peptide chains. Now notice how the two small Pro-NOS “fractions” are found within those long randomly-occurring chains. In fact, it takes 100 pounds of whey isolates to make just 1 pound of Pro-NOS fractions. The benefits of fractions are profound. The “Actinos Fraction” increases nitric oxide production. The “VAT-Burn Fraction” targets and burns fat.

By amplifying the number of enzymes that convert arginine into nitric oxide, the “Actinos Fraction” is proven to increase nitric oxide levels.

In a clinical trial, subjects taking VAT-Burn reduced fat, as opposed to the calorie restricted specific control group. The clinical study further demonstrated that subjects dropped overall body fat loss.

Your body has an enzyme called “Nitric Oxide Synthase” (NOS). That enzyme converts the arginine you supplement - or ingest - into nitric oxide. The problem is, you have a limited number of NOS enzymes - restricting the amount of nitric oxide your body can produce. Now see how the “Actinos Fraction” of Pro-NOS increases NOS, giving you the potential for “unlimited” nitric oxide production. In fact, studies prove the Actinos Fraction amplifies nitric oxide.

Unleashing the “Primal Force” Locked Inside of Whey Isolates!
“We’ve cracked the elusive protein code!” says Ed Byrd, MRI’s innovative CEO. “We’ve identified, and ‘cleaved off,’ the tiny, body-altering peptide ‘fractions’ locked within whey isolates. These small fractions give you ability to rapidly build muscle, burn fat, and increase nitric oxide - with whey fractions only! We’ve discovered the first genuine bodybuilding protein! We call it Pro-NOS. Welcome the new era in protein supplementation!”

The Power of “Fraction” Technology
How can the small fractions in Pro-NOS give you such huge results? Simple. You see, all whey isolates come in peptide “chains.” Ordinary whey isolates, like you find in today’s whey products, occur in long “random” chain lengths. They may help supply your body with aminos - but do little more. Now observe the Pro-NOS difference! The Pro•NOS Fraction Technology identifies, and “cleaves off,” the two tiny “specific” fractions that help you build bigger, thicker muscles fast - then go way, way beyond! The Actinos™ fraction of Pro-NOS is clinically proven to amplify nitric oxide synthase enzymes! The VAT-Burn fraction is clinically proven to burn fat! All this, with whey fractions only!

“Finding these fractions was like finding small bits of gold in large rocks!” says Ed Byrd. The truth is, it takes 6,000 pounds of today’s ordinary whey to produce just one jug of Pro-NOS. That’s how powerful these tiny fractions are!”

Pro-NOS: The Landmark Scientific Achievement - through World-wide Collaboration
Here is something you should know - before you try Pro-NOS. Pro-NOS represents the largest world-wide scientific research collaboration on protein ever known. The research spanned 3 continents. It involved the science team from largest protein company in the world - Glanbia International. It relied on MRI’s team of skilled formulation experts - hired directly from the major pharmaceutical companies. And the landmark discovery, validated by clinical trials, marks the most significant breakthrough in protein ever. That’s the reason why you can try Pro-NOS with absolute confidence.

True.. I've got a few Chef Jay bars on clearance right now at my store for $1 per, expire next month.

(But just for clarification, $18 a box does work out to $1.50 per bar Thomas!)

Looks like he has a new "ragebar" out too. Similar breakdown.

We really should try to convince NP to carry Chef Jays. That way I could order a couple boxes with my usual orders.

ah I love stir fry! I eat it once a week. So you stir fry the veggies with the tuna at the same time? I have never done that...sounds great though!

Yeah, Taylor U. had that craaaazy bus accident earlier this year, the one where two eerily similar chicks were passengers, and one died the other didn't.. but the one who lived was all smashed in the face, they thought it was the other chick (the one who was really dead).. so, the family of the dead girl spent days by the side of the other girl at the hospital.. while the other family buried the other girl, thinking it was their daughter.. oh some madness there dude. Some lawsuits are still flying around over that one..

Yeah, I stir fry the veggies first, then for the final minute I throw the albacore in there, just enough to brown it & heat it up. Tastes phenomenal!

Broccoli is my fav (broccoli, sugar snap peas, mini corn cobs, carrots, mushrooms, onions). If I have some extra shrooms I'll throw lots in there -- love 'em! Onions too.. I like your taste!

Ya that was crazy. I think that was actually in '07, wasn't it?

Can you even imagine what those parents went through?...still are going through?...it's horrible.

Hmm.. time flies when you get old, guess it was last year..

I know, that was some serious nonsense. What made the whole thing bad (if it wasn't already bad enough), in that county where the accident occurred, the coroner is not required to be licensed, it's just an appointed position. So a lot of hell was raised about that too, and they actually changed the law now requiring licensing/continued education for the position (uhh..no-brainer there..)

Hurricane Snag causes some light property destruction!

Workout damage report coming shortly.. pics in the meantime..

Day #3 Back/Arms

Heavy BB Rows:
Warm-up, then 5x6 {245x6 was fairly light here, going to 265 next time}

Front Pulldown:
5x25/20/15/10/10 (all heavy as you can go)

Seated D-grip Cable Row:
3x12

Dips:
4xmax reps, no weight {36/33/28/26} pump was pretty freaking intense off the bat

Tricep pushdown (using V-bar):
4x12-15

Standing BB Curls:
6x20/16/12/8/8/15 (max weights)

Alternate DB Curl:
4x12-15

Abs:
200 reps total

Notes: Overall a pretty decent workout. I think I underestimated myself a bit on a few of the exercises, but that's fine, as I can correct this as we go. I was thinking I'd be fairly weak on the rows, as this is one of my weak points, but this wasn't the case. I used a reverse-grip with these today, ala Dorian Yates-style, slow & strict with a slight pause in the contracted position.. My back overall is one of my weak points, and it takes forever for me to dial this in, doesn't start getting shredded till the very end of things.

Was pretty happy with the macro splits yesterday, will run them again today, but I realize that I'll have to drop cals slightly quicker than expected. I'll settle in at the 2750 mark soon..

And to appease a lot of you out there that seem to think I won't be able to get shredded without doing cardio, I'll throw some HIIT in tomorrow on my off day (along with abs - I skipped them today, workout exceeded an hour as it was). This will not be done often; if I run it once a week, that'll be a lot.. In the final 2 weeks of this program I'll bust out some sprints to bring the legs in, but that's a finishing touch for me.

I see this log running for 8-10 weeks, so target date is circa March 1st. There are no plans to enter any comps at this point; however, rest assured I'll be giving everything I've got and pulling out all stops to be in show condition. The whole pre-comp prep has always been my favorite part of the game anyway; being on stage & competing for a trophy has always just been a means to an end..

Looking great, Snag! Considering you're an inch taller than me, I really hope I can have you muscle density and size by the time I hit 185lbs or so.

You're very aesthetic.. Arms/Delts/Chest are in the perfect proportion.

All i can say is first, nice workout, and second, wich should be first, thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!Great post.
