beta alanine or citruline malate?

they both have muscle endurance features. if you had to pick one, which would you go with? (dont say both. i personally would get both, but for the sake of this thread pick one)

Beta Alanine .. I've been hooked since March of 2008. Have not cycled off it since apart from a couple weeks at a time when I ran out and waited for a new order to come in.

BA it is cheaper and has a ton of positive feedback.

Citrulline Malate

More pricey, but has strength enhancing and recovery benefits as opposed to just endurance.

Big fan of both, and use both as staples... but - have come across more unfavorable reports on citrulline malate than in comparison to BA. Both have had resounding success with users, but BA seems to be the only supplement next to creatine mono that nearly everyone speaks highly of. I again though really like them both.

Bulk powders are affordable however, check them out.

BA as well......have been on it for some time with good results and still get the "flushing" sensation about ten minutes after I take it.

Regards,

Cirulline Malate, hands down.
I'm a HoouGE supporter of beta alanine supplemtation, but Citrulline Malate drasticaly improves my aerobic capacity, and I award a little more points there. God was much kinder to me in the muscular development department than he was in the aerobic threshold department. I have trained to now run long distances, but only by busting a lot of a**. Building muscle came MUCH, MUCH easier to me.

I like BOTH very much! :)

IMO opinion though, BA is worth its weight in gold overall. By far one of the best supplements i've added to my regimen over the years.....followed VERY closely by CM.

We (Primordial Performance) just put out a BA product as well:

I'm on it right now and am impressed with the effects. BA is a staple like creatine in every regard.

Wow that's a tough one. I would go with Beta Alanine as it is effective and cheaper. But really, I like them both the same. I sprung and got both. I cycle between creatine malate and beta alanine with a break in between, and take the Citrulline Malate throughout.

if money isn't an issue- i say take both. personally, CM worked great for me. i've tried BA and although it worked ok- when i added sum CM to it..it felt like i could run forever. the day i tried it - i ran a 1.5 miles and 14-100 yard sprints ( with 100 yard walks as recovery ). it may not sound much to the seasoned HIIT fanatic, but i'm horrible at running & i did not feel winded

Hmmm, it's tough but if price wasn't an issue I would probably say high dosed Cit Mal , like 5g pre and post. But practically, 2g of BA pre and intraWO is effective and cheap.

really? CM needs to be dosed that high? what effects does CM have post workout?

X2 .. I was under the impression it was best pre/intra-workout.

I've used both in bulk powder form and honestly find CM to give more of a pump in the appropriate doses.

Doh typed too fast; meant the same dosing as BA, 5g pre and intra is a good dose. PWO CitMal isn't bad either though. The effect of CitMal are similar to BA, and helps with fatigue/lactic acid metabolism. The 5g pre and post was something I read originally by Poliquin and tried it a few years back before BA was big and quite liked it, but I did find it pricey. 3-4g x2 would also be an effective dose for people my size :) I found improved recovery and less soreness to be quite noticeable, excellent for HIIT training. I felt the effects more than BA, but it might just be nostalgia :31:
