Best Protein for stomach issues

Recently I've been getting upset stomach's and major gas issues with anything whey related. I also tried casein but a still having issues. Has anyone had similar problems or recommendations? I've tried mainly Optimum since it's the cheapest option I have locally. Ordering online can be a pain where I live.

I can only stomach whey isolate... I have tried everything from casein to concentrate + isolate blends, and they all destroy my gut

clear whey. Every other type of whey I couldn't stomach but clear whey is like a light juice consistency and goes down really easy - no upset stomach or gas. I always order online so I'm not sure how it is to find in stores. Other than that some of the vegan proteins are easier to stomach.

Can you post a link? I've tried some vegan proteins a long time ago and they were horrible tasting.

The vegan protein powders have come a long way in the past few years but I'd still only recommend two of them and that is Huel and SunWarrior, the Orgain one is decent too just a bit thick for me. Also they are a bit pricier. You can find them on Amazon or in some stores like Whole Foods or Sprouts.
The clear wheys are abundant on Amazon too. I use the Isopure clear but I think there are some cheaper ones not by much though, Isopure seems to be one of the few with no fillers.

CLEAR hands down.

Recently tried Rule 1's offering. Wow very impressed. The strawberry lemonade is awesome. 27 servings a tub too. One of the best deals and it mixes great plus tastes great.

I think the other type of powders are better used in making treats like protein bars and other desserts. Easier on the stomach vs drinking them as shakes.

For vegan I like the Ghost Banana Pancake Batter. Only one I still buy. Makes amazing soft bars.

ghost makes a very tasty one
the orange creamsicle one is 10/10
myprotein lemonade and dragonfruit are tasty too

I haven't tried the ghost vegan yet, seems like a good blend. might grab a tub on this month's trip into town
My bad, I should've specified lol
I meant their clear one! theirs and MP's
I think ghost's clear orange creamsicle is the best tasting clear whey I've tried so far

I have tried tons of different whey proteins, whey isolate, and casein etc and they all just destroy my stomach and trigger my crohns. I switched to naked pea protein and I have absolutely zero issues with it. I can drink as much as I want of it a day and it has no negative effects. It really does not taste good but it also doesn't really taste bad and you get used to the taste pretty quickly.

Whey concentrate bothers my stomach but Whey Isolate doesn't.

I switched all my protein powder for liquid egg whites recently just for less additives and what not, it does seem to be easier on my stomach, but then again I’ve never really had any issues with protein powder besides very minor bloating. I realize liquid egg whites might be gross to some people though, it’s definitely harder to get down than a protein shake lol.

Every protein on earth it seemed including clear and the most expensive isolates do not agree with me. However, vegan does!!! In particular the leanfit vegan protein. It’s a god send. A couple others I tried don’t quite agree but this one does. I just mix it with some water and eat it like a pudding and I can eat 60-80g at a time and it does not bother me one bit! I am somewhat allergic to eggs and milk btw

I poop them out if I drink liquid egg whites lol

I've been really enjoying Axe & Sledge Farm Fed recently

They have a Enzyme Blend in it that helps with digestion and I think that does the trick for me.

Thanks everyone. It looks like I have to try clear whey but some of the prices are crazy. I guess you get what you pay for.

Sounds like your issue could be with dairy even if it's lactose free. Beef isolate. At true nutrition you can get pure beef isolate protein for $20.00/lb. You also don't have to drink protein shakes, chicken breast is $3.00/lb, just saying 😁

Just take a digestive enzyme with it. I started taking life extension enzyme with every shake and I dont bloat or get gas.

At this point I feel like my stomach is a garbage disposal with as many supps and protein powders i've tried over the years. It has built up an immunity to upsetness I think 😅

Like a lot of others, I personally only use whey isolate because it's easier on the stomach. Also, you may want to look at the sweetener in the product. A lot of companies use sucralose, but I prefer stevia as I found it to be easier on my stomach. Just a couple of things to consider.

I'm sensitive to dairy and I've found I tolerate goat whey and goat milk protein much better.

I've tried beef protein isolate and I have a really hard time flavoring it sufficiently to mask the flavor. The one thing I have that worked was a chocolate flavoring powder but lo and behold that product ended up messing up my digestive tract.

Whey protein isolate. I had the same issue in 2004 in college. Was spending half my work hours on whey protein but had to do it bc i was gagging every morning from wpc on the way to class.WPI (ast vp2) cleared that up asap

I can take in wpc now a days but seem to have to sit longer or sit afterwards. When its up time its wpi

AST VP2 used to be my go-to whey protein back in the day. Can't remember how many bottles of that stuff I went through. Good memories.

Can 2nd sunwarri0r as someone with chronic sensitive stomach issues. I take my first teaspoon in the am. Works great and no need to take more in one shot as your system does better converting smaller amounts thru the day.

I get issues with almost every protein supplement that’s whey based so I’ve been using Ghost Vegan, BUT, I noticed PES Select proteins give me zero issues. Not even the isolate version. Just the regular one.

They're definitely on the top of my list as well when it comes to that department, quality, and taste.
