Best NooTropic?

muscleupcrohn I'd like your take as on this as your posts/knowledge/research seem to be unmatched but of course all feedback is welcome.

Knowing what you guys know of nootropics - would you formulate a preworkout of your own with these ingredients?

Lastly, do you guys mainly take the nootropics first thing in the morning? I know all mixtures will be different but how long for "effects" to kick in (roughly).

Any input would be great ?
I typically take my nootropic stack in the morning, as I tend to either have classes or do work (studying, homework, research, etc) in the morning. Effects of nootropics can take varying amounts of time to work, and it really depends on the ingredients, and even the doses used in a given formula.

For example, something like caffeine kicks in fast, and can last for a while, while other things like bacopa (which may or may not have acute nootropic effects depending on which study you read) really work best with weeks of daily use.

There are times when I split my dose throughout the day, mostly when I have a long day of classes with an exam later in the day, but again, it really depends on the ingredients used. Some ingredients lend themselves well to split 1/2 and single dose use (mostly due to effects being cumulative in nature, or there being a decent range at which the ingredient is effective), but with a lot of products, they don't really lend themselves to split dosing very well, as you often have to take the maximum daily dose to get any acute benefits from the ingredients.

As a general rule of thumb, I'd say take your nootropic product about an hour or two before you plan on really needing it to allow most of the ingredients to "kick in." Given that most people are tired in the morning, added caffeine in a lot of nootropics is nice, but I could also see someone taking it in the afternoon/lunch time if they really needed focus/cognitive benefits a bit later in the day. Perhaps split among the two if the product allows for it effectively.
