...what do they do? I've seen people use them when benching, and somehow it's supposed to make you better @ benching? what is it for, and does it work?
A bench shirt is kinda like a dress shirt that you wear backwards. It is open in the back (no buttons or zipper) and closed in the front. Towards the bottom of the bench press movement the shirt gets tight across your chest. It helps prevent injury to your shoulders; it does assist your lift at the bottom.
Kinda the same thing as wearing thick and tight knee wraps for a squat. It does NOT make you directly stronger but it can help your training by allowing you to lift more and prevent injury.
