Beet root extract or red spinach extract?

Anyone have experience using both of these substances? If so, which one did you think was more effective for blood flow and vascularity?

Honestly they'll probably be pretty similar if you control for or get the same amount of standardized nitrate content.

That said nitrate content can vary quite a bit in beet root (I'd assume similar in spinach, but I don't haven't looked into the specific extracts out there a ton).

Regardless of which you choose if you are looking specifically for blood flow and vascularity you will probably want to focus on finding a reputable brand (does testing) and lists the actual nitrate content per serving.

I definitely agree about making sure to use a reputable brand that does testing.

Some brands may not list nitrate content because of all the lawsuits surrounding nitrates though.

If I were going to use one of these two ingredients, I would go with Innovapharm's Super Spinach.

Personally, nitrates don't agree with my body very well so I tend to go more the route of other ingredients like Super Swole caps that contain Agmatine, Nitrosigine, Amentoflavone, S7, VASO6, etc.

Although it is much harder to find, you might also consider Arugula Extract.
I was trying to remember and couldn’t and that was another option. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hadnt thought about that as why some may avoid listing nitrate content, good to know.

If I remember lately I can post the study showing some of the current brands with terrible actual nitrate content (or high variability).

Innovapharm has a Super Spinach Ive looked at a lot just never gotten around to purchasing.

Thanks for the responses. I just finished a bottle of Innovapharm's Super Spinach. The label claims that their extract provides up to 4 times the amount of natural nitrate compared to beet root. I wonder how true that is. I haven’t tried beet root extract yet and wanted some thoughts before continuing with this or trying the beet root instead.
Anyone use either of these and low dose cialis daily?

Hi, I saw that you're a relatively new poster here (welcome) so I'm not sure if you've followed AM for awhile before posting or not? If you have, then you may know my industry experience. But if not, you may not. I just wanted to explain that because I didn't want to just answer your question here and you think - who the heck is this guy? haha.

I own several brands of my own and work in the supply chain and research and development side of the industry and do raw material sourcing and formulation for over a dozen brands. As part of this, I know a lot about the supply side of things and try to answer questions or help people in any way that I can. But sometimes, because of various NDA's and things like that, I can't go into full details about things. I hope that makes sense.

Having worked in the industry for so long, I'm super skeptical of brands and claims and I'm very specific and particular about what brands of products that I'll use myself and will generally only use brands that I know do quality testing and also heavy metals and microbial testing, etc.

Anyways, I said all of that to say this - I do trust Innovapharm's claim that their Super Spinach would have 4x the natural nitrate content compared to beetroot on a gram for gram basis. I think the reason that they don't specify exact amounts is because of the lawsuits over nitrates and a lot of brands steer clear of making claims on those.

I do not use nitrates myself bc I get headaches from them and tend to get lightheaded from them, but if I were going to use a beetroot or spinach product, it would be the Innovapharm Super Spinach.

As for low dose Cialis, I have tried it and I didn't see any performance benefit from it. If anything, I think my cardiovascular endurance on it was worse honestly. Some people do like it, but it varies a lot by the person.

I'm super analytical and I like to hit things from a variety of different pathways personally and I have a huge interest in and emphasis on cardiovascular health and conditioning, blood flow, and endothelial function.

Hello Steve. I haven't posted much since joining but I've been around this forum long enough to appreciate your response. Glad to hear that you trust Innovapharms because my local supplement store carries it. They also stock a lot of NOW products, which I also know that you trust. I'll be 47 in a few days and even though I'm in pretty good shape I do feel like my blood flow could be healthier. Besides nitrates from the red spinach extract which other supplements would you recommend to hit things from a variety of different pathways? BTW, my wife is 11 years younger than I am and also trains with me and sometimes it's becoming hard to keep up with her, outside of the gym. Can't let that happen.

Thanks for the suggestion. I see that there are a handful of manufacturers. Anyone that you have experience with or would suggest?

I personally love nitrates (more than Steve :p), but there are lots of other good options. I think it just depends a little on what other priorities you have.

SNS has a few good offerings. Their Blood Pressure Support XT is targeted towards blood flow and blood pressure health (and it doubles as an awesome pump product, the doses in it rival some dedicated pump products).

If for more general cardiovascular health I really like their Cardiovascular Support XT. It should help blood flow and endurance on top of the health benefits.

If you want more of like a pre-workout with lots of good health benefits in a similar vein (sorry couldn't resist the dumb pun) something like CEL Super Swole caps, SNS Vasoforce caps, or InnovaPharm NovaPump (which includes some of the Super Spinach) would be pretty good options.

Finally (but not to mean all inclusive, just don't want to drown you with too many options), a good Epicatechin product like CEL Epi-Plex should offer solid benefits in these regards while also having some good muscle building and endurance potential. :)

I think the Oxystorm or Super Spinach are great options though as well, just depends what way you are leaning and what you have access to.

Thank you.

I do trust Innovapharm and use their Recover EAA product myself. And as you mentioned, I really like, trust, and respect NOW Foods.

I'm 45 myself and have had a real interest and focus on blood flow and endothelial function for quite some time now.

My top 3 choices for blood flow, endothelial, and cardiovascular health would be:

SNS Blood Pressure Support XT
SNS Cardiovascular Support XT
CEL Super Swole Caps

Super Swole is mainly marketed as a stimulant free pump product but you could honestly take that exact formula and put a different label on it and it would be one of, if not the best endothelial health product on the market.

Since January I have been using 15 mg of cialis every other day and nitrates an hour and a half before training. Quite satisfied. Attention, I'm not an expert in anything and most of what I know comes from here, I'm just a user who turned 48 on Saturday. And from what I read, the nitrates referred to as incompatible with cialis are pharmaceuticals where the names of the medicines are even mentioned and not nitrate supplements. But my opinion is just a grain of sand.
I recommend reading the topics about cialis.
