Bcaas still useful, between meals, intra ?

John Smeton

Legend
Been using them twenty plus years. When eaas became the normal tens years ago or so, of course I understand every amino acid is best.

That said say I have a solid meal ninety minutes pre resistance exercise, are bcaas a waste in intra shake, dextrose, creatine, taurine, whatever else you'd like.

These three aminos esp luecine one are the three aminos that stimulate mps.

So now I add in some eaas , sometimes, with bcaas if it's been 90 mins. If I workout 30-60 mins after a meal, I think bcaas are fine .

I don't think they're useless.

Of course using them with a solid food source just boosts bcaas , just like adding luecine would boost luecine

I don't think there useless either, I prefer eaas intra workout but if bcaas are cheap, bcaas seem better suited for endurance type training tho, il still use them. They still will help with doms, they help with cns fatigue, they still active mTOR but only the mTORc1 pathway, and not the c2 pathway.

So for me it's a strong argument that they are absolutely still beneficial, but not as beneficial as a essential amino acids and even eaa is not complete proteins, that's why mikes pro synthesis 17 was so awesome. I wish it was coming back!!! Maybe one day 🤞

Never took Mikes pro synthesis 17.

They both cost the same , same brand.

If it's been over an hour and a half or two hrs since I've eaten a solid meal I'll usually take easy or mix bcaas with eaas. Typically I wait longer for meal to settle on more demanding days.

Example I just ate thirty minutes ago ,59 gs protein from 96/4 lean beef , Wal Mart now carries it , two pieces bread, one piece swiss cheese, mustard and organic low sugar ketchup,
I'm five weeks out and lower carbs are working for waist, stomach appearance.

today is biceps triceps, abs. So taking in bcaas with dextose.

Btw competition prep 2012 I took in 450 grams protein 100 carbs, 30 grams fat (50 grams bcaa one day, usually it was 25-35 gs). Was so tired on that diet.

Bcaas have been replaced by eaas but I still think they're worth it, if you can.

I take Rule 1 BCCA before and during workout. It so cheap it’s totally worth it.
I'll have to look up that brand and compare pricing.

Some bcaas are fermented and many are made from human hair. I used to buy fermented but now I don't hink it matters much.

L glutamine I buy fermented bc it seems to help my stomach when i take it.

Yes rule1 popular brand I used their bcaas in 2017.

If they are unflavored I mix a drink mix with the dextrose for flavor.
