FitnFirm said:...If you had trouble on JW you were most likely doing a low carb diet? This is where we see the joint pain come into play mostly. I used it for 8 weeks and had no joint issues at all, but was on a bulk with lots of carbs, which bring water into your body and thus gives cushion to joints.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I am trying to move beyond knowing what happens to knowing why and how it happens.

I believe that the general rule of thumb is that every gram of carb consumed utilizes around 3.5-4oz of water for glycogen synthesis and storage. So, with increased carbs you have more total body water, which lends itself to more cushion so to speak for the joints and tendons that are surrounded by some said muscles. So if you carb deplet, you loose H2O, you loose cushioning, you have joint pain (dry joints). I think that's one of the ways it's effected.stxnas said:I have read that when the body stores glycogen it does so with water and up to a four to one ratio (water being 4 and glycogen being 1). Maybe your a hyper-responder. Could get more mileage out of it if you where. Did you try to cut your dosages down from the normal and see if you still had pain?poison said:Not low carb at all. Retain was too much for me, too.
