Ashwagandha, more than an adaptogen

RR seems a bit more predictable in it's effects. I have tried lithium orotate for anxiety/depression and the results were terrible in my case. One dose in the morning and by the late evening I was in the blackest mood ever..like fairly scarey and very unlike myself. The negative effects were gone the next day and I threw away the bottle. Just didn't agree with my brain chemistry, I guess.

I've read lots of positive reviews and studies on lithium orotate, but I will personally never go there again...ie gunshy, snakebit.

I've tried lithium orotate in the past and found the results to be pretty stabilizing. SSRI's and supplements that act similar (like St Johns Wort) caused extreme anger and mood swings. So, I tried lithium orotate at just 10 mg of elemental lithium per day (15 mg per day flattened my emotions too much) and found it got rid of most of my mood swings. It didn't improve my mood...just seemed to prevent the wild swings back and forth. I stopped taking it when I started experimenting with adaptogens. I'll probably add it back in to my stack sometime in the future.

Tks for the feedback guys. The last three nights I have slept through the night without waking up until the alarm goes off, that is unusual for me. I feel refreshed and very low anxious feeling, which for me is great. I,m only taking one 5mg tab a day at the moment, dont feel the need to add anymore at this time. I really enjoy threads like this one, more info the better.

How would it cause a sore throat?

I don't know. Just know that I get a sore throat on days I take it. Not sure if that could somehow be related to increased thyroid hormones or what. My tsh levels also dropped from 1.7 to 0.6 when I was tested two weeks after starting it. I'm no expert. Just seemed like there might be a connection between the two.
