I do when I go to every gym in my friggen area and none of them allow you to deadlift because " there unnecessary and there are other exercises that are just as effective".
 
You create your own way where the fitness industry is going. Who cares what everyone else is doing only thing that matters is what you're doing

Agreed. If you're not a power-lifter then why take the risk? Any power-lifter I personally know is riddled with injuries. I see guys with pencil legs using enormous amounts of weight and you just know their gym time is just a dick measuring contest, not muscle building lab. So many ppl would just be better off doing high volume leg press but ego destroys their progress or they cite some study about testosterone and squatting when the fact is, regardless of what that piece of paper says, they're just not made to squat. Then there are those who are just too damn lazy to squat. The basic message of the article is "do what works best for you"
 
Hmm, not sure I know too many PLs with respectable squat #s who have pencil legs. In fact, PL over the past couple years has made it difficult for me to find pants that actually fit. I would advocate spending time and effort building functional strength by heavy squatting and deadlifting (muscle growth will occur) than laying down and cranking out rep after rep of leg presses any day. This is not to discount the article, as I find a lot of his suggested exercises to be a great option in the arsenal for rotation of "big lifts".
