I don't think that the point of a paleo diet is to eat less carbs. It is trying to force you to source nutrient dense carbs that promote moderate and sustained blood sugar and insulin production. For people that have had an insulin insensitivity, like myself, it has made a huge difference in weight loss to eat this way. It also makes a tremendous difference on satiety while eating less calories. I'm also way more energetic and have much better gym performance as a result. Sure... Atkins and other Keto diets, but Paleo is a different ballgame.
