Article: WHEN CARBS FIGHT BACK

I don't think that the point of a paleo diet is to eat less carbs. It is trying to force you to source nutrient dense carbs that promote moderate and sustained blood sugar and insulin production. For people that have had an insulin insensitivity, like myself, it has made a huge difference in weight loss to eat this way. It also makes a tremendous difference on satiety while eating less calories. I'm also way more energetic and have much better gym performance as a result. Sure... Atkins and other Keto diets, but Paleo is a different ballgame.

It's probably also important to note that sound keto diets have you refeed carbs once or twice a week depending on how you feel.

Paleo is not carb friendly

How do you source nutrient dense carbs when the majority of carb containing foods are off the list. And please let's not go into the vegetable crap. Most vegetables contain high amounts of fibers which are not digestible by the human body and do indeed interfere with food assimilation. The only nutrient dense carbs that I am aware off are legumes and potatoes. But even those have their limitations. You can't eat them constantly without developing some serious intenstinal distress and they are off the list anyway. Like you, I have tried the paleo diet. I was on it for almost 2 years. Like the article mentioned at first it worked great but after a year I developed serious problems. I was just to stubborn to see light of day and thought that the source must be something different. After speaking with some real nutrion scientists I canned paleo for good and with it my problems are gone.

What types of problems ? Could you elaborate more on that subject ? (just out of curiosity, I don´t do paleo dieting)
