Article: Religion Makes You Fat

The studies don't seem to be enough to be of significance. And let's face it, the US as a whole is overweight and obese. I would like to know the overall numbers that showed children to be twice as obese in religious homes. From another standpoint, Christianity (that's the only one I can speak from with experience) goes hand in hand with healthy physical life, though many people don't honor it. Gluttony and sloth are both sins and we are to treat our bodies like temples. Like I said, a lot of people don't take that seriously, but I find it appalling to see the title of this story.

This makes sense to me. People who are religious always have a built in excuse to get out of changing anything; "God made me who I am." Bam, now you don't have to say no to that third piece of cheesecake, because if you get fat it's just because God WANTS you to be fat! Yay!

lol bull****. If it wasn't for Islam's Ramadan we wouldn't have Lean Gains IF style diet. And all those who have been using this style of eating knows how easy it is to gain lean mass and shed fat. lol stupid author is stupid.

lol@ tateftw...i think religious ppl should eat more and do less..live well and die out...logic doesnt play a role in the religion mind set..

The article is clearly not right. Many churches are adamant about getting out there and exercising and eating right, in fact healthy mind healthy body is the idea and it works.
