Article: A Better Way Of Carb Cycling

Kind of a cool article. I might give this a shot my next cutting cycle. I don't mind a restrictive diet psychologically but I seem to stall pretty hard after 12-16 week mark (since I do it naturally, maybe it's the same for others, but I don't imagine so). Cycling seems to be the key.

Very interesting. The new style (when modified for a bodybuilder) is similar in total calorie consumption to what a lot of the guys using IF/Lean Gains do. Your calories are kept "normal" on your lifting days, but restricted to a very low number on your off or cardio-only days. I would imagine following this protocol with the restriction of carbs on those off days would certainly add a note of effectiveness. I'd say it's certainly worth trying (and healthier than a long-term CKD).

If someone can explain the reason behind such low fats?
Nutritionists were involved in the design of the diet.

Hahaha.

But that is one point I would modify - I wouldn't really consume under 80g. (6'3 250lbs dude needs his dietary fats!)

Good info! I'm doing a carb cycle right now, going with the more traditional 3 days of starchy and 3 days of fibrous. It has worked for me before in just 6 weeks i went from 16% bf to 11%. I intend to stay on with it longer this time and aim for 9% or lower. Think i'll try the above for at least a couple of the weeks with the addition of cardio on the low carb days.

If Invalid Link Removed is what he's talking about, then it's a poor study design. The carb cycling group took in 1,700 less calories per week than the other group. A proper design would have the same total weekly calorie consumption in each group. It's unkown whether the results are simply due to the lower calorie consumption, especially when the other site says the results were fairly similar, not drastically different as this article states.

Totally agree with you. Isn't there a study showing a correlation between high fats and high test vs. Low fats and lower test (ie. 40 vs. 20)? On my phone so I'll try to find study later

I believe u r correct. I've read that several places too, especially since fat intake correlates with hormone production.
