I agree with this. A lot of the internet is filled with misinformation when it comes to the sciences like biology etc. Foodbabe for one had a go at airlines for ripping of customers by not using 100% oxygen and instead cutting it with nitrogen. Problem is is that many people get sucked in bevause they have no clue that the atmosphere is majority nitrogen.
Or how about detoxes?
Anabolic window?
6 meals a day?
Not combining fats and carbs?
Fats and heart disease?
Carbs and diabetes?
Sugar and fat gain?
Blood type diets?
Protein causes cancer?
Sweeteners cause cancer?
Vaccinations are bad?
Herbs are the best?
Talapia at every meal?
Casein before bed?
Avoiding meat?
I could go on and on. If you google any of these, you will find hundreds of articles supporting them all - and most, if not all the hits will be piorly argued and not factual. There is no much misinformation that I've had to step away from most mainstream nutrition and training sources because they are just that bad. Foodbabe is one of the worst. David wolfe is a shocker for fear mongering.
It really is more misinformation that solid, evidence based information
I'm glad you said this, I agree with you on this. He wasn't specifying just generalizing.
Its good info if you know where to look, but I always go to the sauce. A lot of youtube and other social media celebs use forum bro knowledge and pass it off as their own discoveries. Some popular lady copied the flexible dieting thing, made an ebook that practically plagerized lyle mcdonald and then passed it off as her own discovery. Makes me sick to see that happen
A more accurate generalization would be that the internet is for watching porn and the little percentage left is just slowing the bandwidth for more streaming porn.![]()
Porn AND AnbolicMinds.com. There aren't other kinds of websites, are there?

Are you claiming it does?
Because to say that conclusively what you would need is an excess consumed; but that is true of everything and not worth demonizing a food over.
More or less. Unless you are in a Calorie excess, consuming even a high proportion of your Calories from Sugar shouldn't result in fat gain.
Moreover, due to the energy expensive and rather complex system of converting a CHO molecule into a triglyceride, they dont normally convert to fat anyway, but rather fat accumulation will come from fat itself (as you eat more CHO, CHO oxidation increases and fat burning oxidation decreases).
Just one of the awesome, complex systems of the body
Complete bs the fructose in sugar gets metabolized by the liver. There it gets turned into fat, which is then secreted into the blood.More or less. Unless you are in a Calorie excess, consuming even a high proportion of your Calories from Sugar shouldn't result in fat gain.

Nice strawmanYa go eat all your maintenance calories in the form of sugar and tell me how you make out

Conclusions
Pooled analyses show that fructose in isocaloric exchange for other carbohydrate does not increase postprandial triglycerides, although an effect cannot be excluded under all conditions. Fructose providing excess energy does increase postprandial triglycerides. Larger, longer, and higher-quality trials are needed.
Maybe it wont result in fat gain which I doubt but it will surely result in diabetes.

Would this ever happen for a prolonged period, naturally? Most people have more common sense. Its very hard to eat JUST sugar in the diet without also ingesting other macros. The main point is, don't fear sugar for sake of fearing sugar. Limit it, not for the FAT accumulation side, but the health implications, But the odd treat wont kill you.
