I'd say if u go over 30g at one time its prob overkill for BCAAst-bone2 said:So how many grams would constitute megadosing?

I would add that it depends a lot on what you take it with as well.Bobo said:It depends on how you handle it. For me, anything over 10g and I'm in the bathroom now.
People digest and absord amino's and/or rapid absorbing proteins at different rates. Some can handle large amounts, some can't. There is no fixed number.
:cheers:Bobo said:Well of course it does.
Gator762 said:What kind of protein are you comparing against?
For example, they Whey I am taking at the moment has 24g of BCAA's per 100g protein. Pre-workout I take 2 scoops for 34g protein, which means I am also getting 8g of BCAA's along with it.
it is not the same thing. The bcaas in whey are peptide bound, they have to be liberated through digestion which takes time, causing a delayed release into the bloodstream. free form bcaa cause a rapid spike in plasma levels which has a much different effect on protein synthesisGator762 said:What kind of protein are you comparing against?

If I am correct, there is a prime ratio of valine to leucine to isoleucine. So a protein powder most likely comes nowhere near touching this amino acid profile. A lot of generic proteins are waaaaay off actually.
Bobo said:Yes but its not like you need large amounts.

Are you gonna do the new NASM-PES program?Bobo said:Hardly. Even reading my own posts its obvious I haven't been in the classroom for a while.

I am gonna do that before I get my CSCS this winter.
So could I, I just dont need it yet and the closest testing site is like 5 hours from me.Bobo said:No. I meant post graduate work. I could take the CSCS exam right now.

I'm sure I'll do just fine TY:bow28:Bobo said:Better watch that question about BCAA's on there.

It looks good on my resume. Plus I know a couple head trainers at clubs and they say some places will give you an extra few grand a year for each cert you have.Bobo said:So why would want/need to take the NASM-PES or CSCS programs?

Oh I wasnt going to take the program lol I am just taking the test.Bobo said:Yes but you don't need to take the CSCS program. You can test out of the CSCS right now if you already have a 4 year degree.

shoot me a lineBobo said:Just going by what you said.
Plus if you are going for your phd, stop listening to head trainers at gyms.
