No additional vitamin C, and nothing that qualifies as a supplement per say...just standard tube feeds if vented. They are all getting hydoxychloro and azithro..
We have not done any Mucomyst yet and that probably won’t be a standard. Only one of the patients I have had on the vent had really tenacious secretions which is generally what we reserve that for. The other 3 vents had insignificant secretions. I hope that remains the case overall..
Yeah, it looks like the Chloroquine theory is circling the drain. Hopefully you guys are seeing results?
lol, the left wing media called hydroxychloro and zpack trumps snake oil.
Unfortunately it seems like some reports are showing it may not have any significant effect and may be a waste of our time. But it isn't like Trump came up with the idea himself.
It's crazy how out of hand the conversation on this has gotten. To the best of my knowledge, Trump has never called this drug combo a cure for coronavirus. He has pushed it as a viable treatment option, which clearly many dr's seem to agree with(since it seems to be fairly commonly used), and it's about all we really have right now. I don't understand what everyones issue is with him advocating for it.
He pushed to have it tried. This has always been part of his platform, people should not be victims of FDA non-approval when they are facing challenges without a solution. If we have a drug that hasn't been proven yet, and you are going to die, he has taken the stance that you should be able to try it.
Of course this can have some ethical grey area but I mostly agree with it.
I think Trump did get some light on the drug and this forced the FDA to open the doors for trials. Unfortunately it may not work out. The downside is that maybe we spent resources trying this that could have been spent elsewhere because we jumped the gun. But I think we have to go down a lot of dead end roads and the faster we get down those roads the faster we will find the way out.
I didn't mean those cycles. I meant literally starting and shutting the economy down, like it's being done now. Of course that's unrealistic. Somebody else mentioned this up there. But, other than that, there's no real way to prevent a large number of deaths. Unless a country wants to take a few years and make the entire country a giant hospital. Not seeing that happening anywhere, so who knows what the plan is.
As for your observation about the loss of employees, shouldn't we factor in the average age of the casualties? Haven't checked lately, but I think that is on the higher side. That's morbid, but good news I guess. Everything considered.
I gotcha.
As far as age - yes, age is an ugly factor from a purely economics view. But principles have a value too and how do you factor those in when you are valuing someone's life as if we were talking depreciation? I don't know. It isn't an easy answer and is probably beyond my knowledge.
At some level you are right, bad sh1t happens and we can't stop it.
And this may seem counter to some of what I have said but I always tell people - you can have safety or you can have freedom, pick one. Oh, and safety is just an illusion.
Nobody can protect us from this, we have to protect ourselves to a large extent. And hopefully we have enough left over so that we can all try to protect others too.
