Exactly, they have come a long way. I remember when I started working at a PC shop when I was 14 (Nerd...yes) and the amd chips would constantly burn up. I told customers to stay away from them at all cost. Things eventually changed and I run amd processors exclusively in all my systems as well as my friends/families systems I build. They do run a little hotter than the intel chips, just get a good heat sink and your set.

Yes sir that is the only chip I run..

I used to run AMD, but my last two upgrades were Intel. Not only because of the heat issue, but AMD had some known compatibility issues with the ATI Radeon card, especially with regards to capturing. "Probably" cleared up these issues now, but that was too late for me.

Never had a compatibility problem with Intel. When it comes to my hard earned money, I don't take chances with "second chances" too often.

Do you know Dain and Gnibble?

I was in the Green Mountain Militia with them, and almost followed them into Brethren too when our fellowship split. But I just couldn't afford the time committment. Some of those raids took quite a lot of hours...needed to get my life back, lol.

hahahah yeah i know both of them :P. I was in BOT when GMM started MC and we had that crossover raid. who are you! :P. yeah im just semi-dedicated- working out comes first. you should come back though haha im sure it wouldnt be a prob ill throw up a sponsor post.

LoL, it is truly a small world, LoL. I've thought about going back every once in a while. I *might* possibly closer to winter. But right now is the busiest time for acting, and I'm already committed to a good number of projects this summer. That, plus my full-time job, working out, studying, etc will make it doubtful this summer.

Tyhr is my character's name. I was a main healer, and usually grouped as the healer with people 10 levels higher than me, LoL.
Of course though, I've been keeping my eye on the feral changes since I left (there's been a ton). I prefer feral over healer. :)

I got good enough soloing that I could sometimes take out 2 lvl 60's by myself (well, as long as they weren't a priest, warlock, shaman or druid, LoL). I miss Hunters and rogues and warriors.

Im selling my Geforce 7900 GT for $180 if anyone is interested. I just bought a Geforce 7950 GX2 (48 Pixel Pipelines) and it's sooo fast in FEAR, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, and 3dmark06.

I too used to be a counterstrike junky. I was better at the original than CS Source though.

Jesus. I've got to build a new computer.

My current box is a P4 2.8GHz HT, 1.25 GB Dual Channel DDR400, Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB.

Honestly, the biggest bottlenecks in the system are the video card and the hard drives. I have 10000 RPM SCSI drives I can install (as well as a good SCSI card), and the mobo has onboard SATA, so I could get a 10000 RPM Raptor. However, the mobo is also AGP, and while there are new AGP cards, I'm not going to spend my money on them when PCIx is out there.

In the next few months, I'm going to build a new AMD based system with dual core and all new components.
