Any supplements for Dermatitis?

So, I have really bad dermatitis on my scalp and I have male pattern baldness. Thankfully I look good bald, but unfortunately I do not like good with dry flakes that constantly form on my head all day. I'm looking for something to take that'll help and not affect testosterone, or any androgens. I've seen commercials for medicine for this and the side effects are far worse than my symptoms.
 
What have you tried so far?
Who diagnosed dermatitis?
Your PCP or dermatologist?
This should be something that you'll be able to control so hang in there.
 
I haven't seen my dermatologist in about 4 years. I had to go on accutane and even though it did it's job and got rid of my acne(still get pimples sometimes but they go away on their own), the dermatitis got worse. My dermatologist just told me to use shampoo for it, but that just dried my scalp up and makes more dry skin. I've only tried shampoos for it and tea tree conditioners.
 
So I'm gathering that you have slightly oily face with occasional acne. It sounds like you can control this with face washing and maybe like OTC ben peroxide spot treatment. Is this correct?

No, no more oil at all. In fact that's the problem. The accutane dried my glands out so much, that now my skin gets too dry.
 
Ok cool, we are making progress. As u suggested, we are over treating and can probably drop the accutane.

Is ur scalp dermatitis just dry and flaking? Or do u have rash, pimples, or any other issues with it?
 
Coconut oil use it as lotion and natural anti-inflammatories had the same issue after accutane (this **** is poison wish I never took this nasty ****) and that is what I found to work for me also it will eventually go away

Thank you. To answer celc5, I've been off accutane for 4 years. The dermatitis has been consistent, the thing that makes it worse now is that I'm going bald so it's visible. Luckily I have a jar, or should still have a jar of of coconut oil laying around. I've been using hydrocortison, but it barely does anything for my scalp, it helps my face though.
 
Not dermatitis but I've had eczema and for me a cream called protopic really worked well. As for natural remedies that ought to work well try GLA and fish oils.
 
Shiz, I agree with the coconut oil. The reason why I asked so many questions before the recommendation, is that some people with drrmatitis also get a low profile pimply rash. In other words, scalp is dry but adding oil will make the rash areas worse.

Try neutrogena T get shampoo, but only use it once per week. Shower immediately after workouts but use only a touch of shampoo and still use conditioner too. If u use the coconut oil, only use it after shower and be conservative with that too. I recommend (dont laugh) Garnier Fructis body and scalp oil. I get it on Amazon for my flaky buzzed head.

This is very true that's why I don't recommend most any lotions as they seem to die this. Although coconut oil does not seem to dry out the natural oils.
 
Cortizone 10 Cream. 2x per day for 3-4 days will clear it right up


Trust me, I have the same issue
