Any benefit from daily NO product use?

Is there any benefit from using nitric oxide products like citrulline+arginine on a daily basis regarding muscle growth or recovery? I use lots of caffeine, methylphenidate and nicotine (snus) and I wonder if I could benefit from using NO products somehow. I have seen some guidelines for using citrulline 3x2g daily but I'm wondering if it's just a trick to get people to supplement more.

My vascularity is quite low perhaps genetically I guess? Or because I'm mostly just sitting on my ass when not working out. The veins disappear completely at rest (oddly at night they reappear and I'm always in the brink of sweating when I lay down to sleep and it's not because of room temperature at least) but when I'm working out they pop up from almost everywhere.

I'm a 31 year old male, been working out 3-6x per week for 7 months, so I'm a beginner. Prior gym experience totals for about a year and I did a 6-month conscription about 10 years ago so I guess I have at least an adequate basis for muscle building. I cut and lost 15kg of fat in the last 6 months and now I've started to bulk, even though I'm only at 15% bf, because lifts are stalling badly.

15% bodyfat is probably the reason your not vascular. Lots of guys are not vascular till they hit single digit bodyfat. As for daily no use, I would assume the benifits might/should be slightly lower blood pressure, increased blood flow, healthy skin, increased oxygen supply to the lungs, all the normal stuff that N.O. does in the body. Increased nutrient delivery through better blood flow and healthy blood vessels may equate to better growth and recovery but I wouldn't expect a visible noticable difference. I think it would do more for general health then muscle growth. Similar to a very low dose of daily cailis. But not as strong obviously

You also gotta make a decision on bulking or cutting and stick with it. Your not going to get stronger on most lifts when your weight is trending downward

It should provide you with better pumps and better delivery of nutrients to your muscles.

Yes. Will likely be specific to the ingredients individually, but I’d be more likely to conclude that most are beneficial daily. Yes some show benefit acutely but I tend to take them daily now a days (some people train so frequently that it’s pretty much daily dosing though 🤷🏻‍♂️).

Can I change the direction a little here, I've always found arginine a sub par nitric oxide booster, I prefer Beetroot powder and l citrulline for this topic. And I'm if you can throw a low dose daily cailis/tadalifil in the mix at 5-10mg it keeps the nitric oxide around longer. Some ppl say it doesn't provide the effects outside of in the penis but I would disagree, I find the increase blood flow everywhere. I actually don't get the sexual benifits from Cialis but I get a better pump and slightly lower blood pressure and some other general health benefits.

So I'm wondering, what's everyone's favorite ingredients for nitric oxide production and other ingredients to increase the effectiveness of NO

I'll typically stick with Agamatine, Citrulline, and Glyercol. I like adding Purus Labs Noxygen into the mix as well which is Betaine Nitrate. I can tell I get a pretty good pump when adding it in.

One of the only issues with Beetroot (imho) is it tends to be poorly standardized and needs a large amount for actual Nitrate content, but Beets in general are pretty epic.

I think finding NO boosters that don't work in redundant ways is what matters most (so using different ones working through various MOAs).

I think Nitrates are pretty much the top of the pile (but need adequate actual Nitrate content which varies depending on what amino acid salt it is attached to and are so hard to find in individual products due to patent issues), but things like Citrulline, Agmatine and things like Epicatechin and Vaso6.

Things of that nature then paired with other muscle volumization type ingredients (that may not be directly boosting NO) is a pretty sick way to boost pumps (things like Creatine, Taurine, Betaine, Glycerol etc.).

I buy little tubs of actual beet powder and add it to beverages, pre workout products and things like that, the taste is terrible but I feel like it makes a difference

Welcome.

Arginine won't help you much in this regard, you're better off going for something like Nitrates and Citrulline. I always recommend dosing Nitrates with vitamin C to offset any negative conversions.

If your lifts are stalling after only 7 months, then you need to focus on your programming. I would recommend using a cookie-cutter template like 5x5 or something of the like to keep your lifts progressing. It can be done without bulking, but it needs to be done smartly.

A well designed workout plan will benefit you the most here.

So while I agree the arginine and nitric oxide products won't help his lifts. I highly doubt the training program is the problem in this situation.

His lifts are stalling "most likely" because he's been cutting and has lost over 30lbs.

You can't expect to be getting stronger while loosing that much weight.

What will probably benifit him the most is to not worry about the weights he's pushing temporarily and diet to the point where he's happy. Then he can focus on bringing his strength back up.

I do agree a basic strength program would be good for him at some point. Or even right now if he has stopped dieting. All I'm saying is the weight loss is stalling out his strength, not poor programming
