Antioxidants before after training

there is a huge thread on BB.com citing several studies which claim taking anti oxidants before and after training inhibits gains.

if all of this is legit, that would make bananas and organges unsuitable pre-workout

it would also make all of these pre and post workout concoctions less than ideal

do you think this is legit

Why would want your body to be oxidized. Not only is it good to take imo it will help slow the ageing processes down and help with your DNA. I take tones of antioxidants threw out the day.

the question here isn't whether or not they are good or bad in general, just that they are bad in the 4 hour window before and after training

its amazing how alll of the supplement reps on this site that have antioxidants in their pre and post workout concoctions are acting like this doesn't exist

they either don't want to be associated with a negative thread such as this one

or, they simply don't have the balls to come on here and justify their product

Anti - oxidants

Hi, I recently read an article and felt that “The amount of antioxidants in your body is directly proportional to how long you will live.” antioxidants are the nutritional equivalent of man's best friend - they are loyal protectors and nurturers of our cells, repelling disease, and promoting good health. Antioxidants can come from healthy eating or in the form of supplements, and they include a family of naturally formed components like vitamin A, beta-carotene, lycopene, vitamin E, and more. They are believed to protect cells from free radicals, harmful oxygen molecules thought to damage cells that result in cancer, atherosclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, and rheumatoid arthritis, and they may be the underlying reason why we age.
