It's a generational thing. My parents were brought up to think that saturated fats cause heart disease. That's what the media said. What amazes me is how little scientific research there was to come to that conclusion.

I wouldnt really say they are bad or good really. PUFAs are more prone to peroxidation which can lead to health problems but omega3 have been shown to be quite beneficial. Overall I would the problem with PUFAs is the amount we typically consume and our ratio of 3:6
