AE is getting hard with LG's battle hardener kit

So here we go.

Typical 30 minutes pre lift cardio

Chest:
Flat BP 7 sets 2 sets @ 295lbs 5 reps per
Incline BP (7 sets) 4 sets @ 225lbs sets of 8-10

Tris:
JM Press (6 sets) sets @ 225lbs 5 per
French press (5 sets) 115-130lbs to failure <really began to struggle with my elbows on this one>

I take Orange triad religiously for years. When it gets real bad, I throw in a little Cissus XT and that typically does the trick. At 38, with all injuries I have had (wrestling, football, lifting) it has taken a toll.

This morning was a good recovery day. Felt good and legs were really moving.

Hit 295lbs of the box for reps, which I was pleased with. Additionally, had a crazy arm pump alternating between standing alternating curls and hammer curls.

I am changing up the routine a little tomorrow. I have a very late night tonight, so if I do get up early tomorrow, it will be for cardio only. I will push shoulders to wednesday.

My monday night was very late, worked from 630am and didn't get in until 10pm, so yesterday was cardio only

Here was todays work:
pre workout cardio as always 45 minutes 12% 3.8-4.6mph

Shoulders
Seated BB Press (7 sets) sets @ 185 5-7reps
DB Shrugs (5 sets) 75lbs sets to failure
DB Lateral super set (5 sets) 30lbs to failure side and rear

Only had time for wide chins for back today 4 sets BW sets of 10-12

Overall, pleased for a return from a day off. Very happy to note that a week from today I start my extended winter break. One of the beauties of my job!

I could use one of those breaks but my job is 0 stress and I am going to be in super compensation (no training) so I guess I shouldn't complain.

I am jealous. I love my job, but I am a HIgh School VP. So the break is well appreciated.

Today is my last day of round 2 of M140, I will be very happy to take a break and..... super compensate :)

Just crazy....after all these years in education it is amazing how students freak out before a holiday.

Not much to report on workouts, outside of me being tired having a negative impact on my energy levels.

Glad that tomorrow is a weekend :)

Morning fasted cardio is in. Felt great to get in a more complete and uninterrupted run

50 minutes 12% 3.9-4.9mph

According a lot of things I am reading now fasted cardio may not be as beneficial as eating fats early AM and doing it an hour later. This was news to me as well and I haven't really decided what I am going to do with this into. What we know is always changing and you want to be sure which is which before you make changes. Anybody else have input on this.

I think it depends where you are at in your diet/lifestyle. If you have an extremely high metabolism like a lot of young athletes or veteran athletes then fats early isn't a problem. If you are trying to drop bf from greater than say 14% then I think the fasted cardio probably works better. Fasted workouts have been around forever and it's proven. Fasted workouts on someone very lean trying to add LBM could be counterproductive though as it may hinder adding any lbm. That's my thoughts on it anyway...

I don't think you can ever really go wrong with morning fats, I just wonder if it's superior to fasted for cardio. Morning is a great time for MCT's. I am dong more of a carb backloading type approach. Lots of fats early in the day and carbs later but higher glycemic carbs. I am pretty astonished at how much I can eat calorie wise and not put on fat. I seem to be holding much better size and body composition, however I am coming off M140 so the volume and training frequency may be a key factor as well. The experiment continues.

Oh and a lot would depend on what you were eating later in the day on the night before I would think.

You're officially off for a bit now right? A little extra rest much deserved!

not yet sadly. I only have 1.5 days remaining. :). However, my schedule is booked but by Tuesday afternoon a much needed break. How about you Kat?

Ahh yes, so close! Pretty much the same here- I will be crazy busy Monday and Tuesday but done after 5ish on Tuesday. Don't have to go back until Jan. 5th.

We have the same break it seems. Sooooooo looking forward to it

Great workout this afternoon. Didn't do a fasted cardio this am, so coupled it all together this afternoon

Pre W/O cardio
45 minutes 12% 3.9-5.0mph

Chest
Incline BP (6 sets) sets @ 225 sets of 7-10
Flat BP (5 sets) 3 sets @ 275 5 per :woohoo:

Tris
JM Press (6 sets) 2 sets @ 185lbs 7 per
2arm db ext super set (5 sets) 75lbs & 55lbs to failure

275?! Awesome!!

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Just realized in looking at the Form-X that this log is just about done :(

Since today is a half day at work, I decided to sleep in and depending on when I get home, I might workout this afternoon or just hold off until my first day of vacation tomorrow. Probably a day or 2 left overall :(

Dam sucks you have to go back in. We got off Friday and don't have to go back until the 5th! Long break this year.

Lifts looking strong dude. One bad ass Principal!

lol. Thanks man. Have to admit that I have the used gym for discipline. :)

Just got done with a little afternoon cardio. Trying out new sneakers.

We are closing at noon today and I don't have to come back till Saturday. Training starts again then too.

Didn't really sleep late, but got in some fasted cardio.

Waiting for my daughter at the moment to complete physical therapy. Then back home for some shoulders and back.

Will do a final write up tomorrow or Friday.

Got up early on your off day? Dedicated!!

Have a Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas all. No fasted cardio as we have our annual monster christmas breakfast. My wife makes enough food for an army, when it is just the 3 of us. Of course, I always eat it all :)

Will be working out in a little while, once all the food digests :)

That sounds amazing! I'll have lots of cardio/training to make up for once we get back next week! I hope you enjoyed your Christmas!

I love me a monster breakfast. I am going low carb for a couple weeks so you know I will be chowing down on some bacon :)

thanks guys. It was a great time and I hope that you all had a great time with family and friends as well.

We actually had friends out that we only get to see every now and then.

I apologize for the delay in my final update. As you can imagine, it has been very busy.

Overall: I weighed in at 203, which is identical to where I started. I will note that there have been some differences as a result of this run:

  1. Strength increased
  2. There was a slight recomp effect
  3. Muscular hardness was very pronounced throughout the entirety of the run and through PCT
Overall I am very pleased with this and would love to give a further shot to other LG stacks/kits.

Thank you all again for following and also a thank you to Kat for selecting me for this.

I am glad you had a good run with the battle hardener.
The only question I would have is, what is the difference between the trifecta stack and the battle hardener? Regarding goals/results.... I appreciate your help!
