strangely enough, proactiv actually does work. i know a lot of people say that it's hype, but i'd sampled it and it does work for the face. i don't have acne, but get the occasional breakouts.
however, it does not work for larger pimples, like the mountains i get on my upper back from time to time. them shits are terrible!
Try antibacterial dish soap. It works great for the back.actually, i don't want to hijack the thread, but i had a bit of a specialized question in relation to the main one from the starter: how can one eradicate backne? i don't get widespread pimples on my back. i just get, on occasion, like two BIG, RED, BOULDERIZED bumps.
i thought of using a back scrubber and mayhaps mixing the soap i put on it with a salicylic acid lather. how's that sound for a possible go?
While no report has, i have real life evidence.
1. Chocalate does. Iget mine in control fairly easily and maintain, i eat a chocalte bar, or PB cups and i get large cycte ones, either on my neck or forehead. Like clockwork, I actually made a bet awhikle ago with someone casue they said the same thing
I also have 2 friends who break out from certain protien powders. I have also, uscle milk. Its great but yea it makes it worse.
What gel you have? Tazorac? Duac? Those are the 2 i use on and off.
Accutane brother... Accutane...
proper dosage of course...
works like magic..

It works for your back and doesn't dry me out to much!Has too much residue and can be very harsh and drying ont eh skin. It has components that dissolve and separate fats, think of all the good lipid that is being removed from the skin.

No I know this I was just recommending it to people for their backs. I almost never have acne, but when on cycle I do sometimes get some small ones on back and shoulders. I use some of the dish soap and it is gone almost instantly. I think the key is if you have minor acne on back and shoulders use it till it dries up then stop. I read it somewhere it was a old bodybuilding trick from arnolds day.if you dont have a
severe case then it may, but if you have a severe case then it will be worse. The sebum in harsh cases is just over produced. If you dry out the skin with the dish soap, the oil gland will over produce and the skin is more likely to hold more oil wince it gets prduced so fast.
ok no offense to anyone but...
dont recomend accutane until other options have been used. ITs tough stuff and only to be run by itself, no other vits or supps.
Proactiveworks for people who forget to wash thier face sometimes, its overpriced and over rated. I know as well as many other users i have talked too.
Diet is key, but i have a very respectable diet and no it does not solve it.
It is an over productin of the oil gland(sebum) that causes severe acne so you need to go a bit above and beyond.
I would recomend...yes checking diet first.
DO NOT USE DISH SOAP! you will over dry, and it will come back with vengance, once again i know(when i was younger)
Do not use stuff like AXE shower gel, only ones made specific for acne, there is a new one out i have not tried yet.
Dove soap, there is a certain one i have to find out from my Derm that is 100% perfect ingredient profile.
I use a Mega BComplex and dose 3 times a day, 2 double 1 regular, it does help, i can stand by that.
If you do not outgrow it, like me. And it is troublesome i would say, go to a derm and ask him for, Doryx(oral, not accutane but like it.) Tazorac, opens the pores often aplied at night. Duac, Cleans the pores, used in the a.m.
My Derm has switched my cream protocal as i progress, and added one.
It sucks to have to do that 3 times a day but it does help. I have a feeling he is just trying to rid of it a bit and then put me on a low dose accutane like 5mg a day.
Do not use accutane off of black market or on your own. You need blood work done with it. Its all business, if you dont know, it destroys, as in kills your oil gland, which does not allow the sebum to be prduced in excess.
I'm suprised no one mentioned vitamin a. Great for clearing up pimples and skin in general. If it is really bad see a dermatologist and get some accutane, only thing that helped me back when i was going through that problem as a teenager,

A safe and mild soap to use for back acne is cetaphil's gentle antibacterial soap. Safe to use even on teh face occasionally.
