Can't take credit: Brosciencelife has a vid about bulking where at the end he says, "Because if you wanna wear hoodies all day, eat 7 pizzas, & bench 4 plates, GO AHEAD - this is America, after all!" lmao
That's prob a good plan, but also understand that the first meet is just to get an idea of how they run, meet some people, get your name in the books. It's a lot of fun. It really lights a fire under your ass to stick to your training very seriously, the way a bb comp does your diet. And in the powerlifting world, there's a lot of women stronger than guys at most health clubs - nobody is judging you based on your numbers, because they've seen it all already. Guys 100lbs heavier than you with weaker lifts cuz they're noobs & just fat, & 170lb 60yr olds pulling 529 (witnessed that personally), and everything in between.
I know YOU wanna come in strong, but nobody is gonna know or care but you, so while I agree setting PRs is always number one, don't wait if that's your only reason for it.
